Turkey in a Bag

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
I rubbed the turkey down with butter, sprinkled with paprika, put the apple, sage and rosemary on the inside, and the celery and onion in the bag, and was WONDERFUL!!! I don't even like dark meat, but the flavor was so great, I ate it too!

Meat Filled Manicotti

WOW, WOW, and WOW! I used ricotta instead of cottage, and I used mozerella/provolone mixture. Put a lil onion and garlic in with the hamburger while cooking, and WOW!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Not worth trying. I just should've stuck to my mom's old recipe. Very disappointed!

Tuna Noodle Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I used half cream of celery and half cream of mushroom, because I couldn't decide which to use. I didn't use the red pepper at all, and added some garlic powder to it. I felt like there could have been more tuna, next time will use 1 1/2 or 2 cans. I also sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese and crushed Ritz crackers on top and baked for a while...will definitely try again!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
This was a good recipe, but I did make a few changes. I used broth from boiling the chicken, put the onion in with the chicken, added garlic, and cornstarch to thicken the juice. My bf LOVED it, said it felt good on his scratchy throat.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
My 12 yr old step daughter said, "I don't eat steak." I said, "Why, it's really good!" She said, "It's too tough, it hurts my braces when I chew." Her dad said, "Not THIS steak, it melts in your mouth!" She ate it, asked for more. End of story. THANKS!

Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
I made a few changes...I used calf liver, seasoned up my flour with some salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, and poultry seasoning. I also made brown gravy from pan drippings, brown gravy mix, and beef broth, and let it simmer. I've never tried liver before, and I thought it was nasty, but my boyfriend, who had requested it...ate it ALL. Good thing I didn't like it...LOL A+

Seven Layer Dip I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
The only thing I did different was used taco seasoning in my meat. It was delicious, easy, and looked SO pretty I didn't want to dip out the first portion!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I used this recipe yesterday, and the "Perfect Turkey" recipe last weekend...this one is THE ONE to use! I did brine my turkey first, and I used an injector to inject the melted butter, and I stuffed with carrots, onion, celery, and an apple.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

This was a HIT at my dinner. I do think I will add some kind of bacon grease or bacon pieces next time, though.

Greek Veggie Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
Very good, and healthy! I used Lite Italian, and have never used feta cheese, so I used shredded tomato basil mozerella...it is wonderful, and I'm having it today for lunch! Yummy!

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
This was just like the recipe my grandma uses! I used turkey broth from the gizzards/neck instead of chicken broth, and added a little sage, and toasted the bread. It was WONDERFUL! My first Thanksgiving dinner in my first apartment and the stuffing was PERFECT!

Not worth the time or money, in my opinion...wish I would've stuck with sausage balls.

Cornbread Stuffing Southern Style

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
This was pretty good, but wasn't crazy about the oregano, and maybe should have used sour cream instead of yogurt? Was still good though, and not many left overs!
