Last Minute Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
This recipe gets 5 stars for taste and ease. Great recipe!! I didnt have marjoram, and I added whole fresh mushrooms. Everyone went back for seconds. This will go into rotation at my house! I made homemade drop biscuits, and we tore them up and put them in the mix. This is a versatile recipe that can take whatever veggies and spices your family prefers.

This was very good. I found that I can sneak a little bit of veggies to to my family by adding spinach.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
These are hands down the BEST cookies I have ever made!! Thanks for the recipe. I had to make three batches in one week because I couldnt keep my family out of them. I caught them in the "cookie jar" in the middle of the night, at breakfast, when I come in from outside, basically anytime they thought I couldnt see!!! Now thats a GOOD cookie! I sent them to school, and the teachers raved. Some of the 2nd graders wouldnt touch them though. I bet the staff didnt care since they got the leftovers. I also made these as gifts last Christmas, substituting the chocolate chips with Caramel chips, Peanut Butter chips and Mint chips. Thanks for the absolutely fabulous recipe!

Beef and Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
I make a version of this every year, but never thought of adding green peppers. I used other suggestions and cut back on worchestershire sauce and used liguid smoke instead of onion juice. Also added a little garlic powder. I meant to roll it in bacon pieces but forgot to. I put a few drops of orange food coloring in it for a Halloween Party and shaped it like a pumpkin. It was excellent. I will use this from now on.

Ham Breakfast Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2011
Very good. I used FF cream cheese, and added finely diced red peppers and asparagus. I forgot the cheese so I sprinkled some on top to melt about 5 minutes before removing it from the oven.

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
These were pretty good. I didn't use the salt and baked the meatballs on a tray sprayed with canola oil. I froze them and then threw them in with the sauce a little while before the party. People didnt eat a lot of them. One person asked what the sauce was. They guessed bbq. I added some onion soup mix to the meatballs. They were excellent. Wish i would have kept more of them out of the sauce for other recipes! I froze the left over cocktail meatballs. We will see how they come out after reheating.

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Great recipe! one thing i hate about "real" Chicken Fried Steak is the chewyness, This melts in your mouth. Great for saving on money too. Thanks! I always bake mine instead of frying. I have tried many alterations but the original recipe is great as is.

Grant's Famous Midnight Grill BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
This is excellent. I didn't use bbq sauce to make bbq sauce though! I made my own sauce which included chopped apple, onion, and garlic. Then mixed in these ingredients. Superb, I dont use the recipe any longer just through stuff in. I'll never it again!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
This came out great. I used cheescake pudding and peanut butter sandwich cookies as suggested. Followed the rest exactly. Everyone was absolutely horrified and amused by its appearance. Once someone tried it, almost everyone did and said it was one of the best "cakes" they've ever tried. thanks for the great Halloween Party centerpiece.

Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
This is pretty good, way better and healthier than store bought stuff. I sometimes add ground flax and wheat germ if I have it on hand. Not sure how much, I just eyeball it. I have made different varieties by using dried blueberries, cranberries, apricots, etc. Just omit the apple(or keep it for a neat flavor). We also omit the apple and add fresh fruit (bananas, peaches, blueberries)to our bowls before we microwave it with a little bit of water. Great idea for adding health without adding the extras sodium and preservatives.

Pork Chop and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
I give this a 5 just for the ease of it. You should have no problem seasoning this dish to your families taste. If you look at the ingredients as written, you should be able to tell if you would want more spices in it. Some people dont over season their food, if they season at all.. I'm sure the soup mix would be sufficient for flavor to someone who just throws the chops (or whatever you're cooking) in the oven and bake them plain, as I have seen many do. My mother included. Anyway, I just put the chops (without browning) or potatoes, which ever I have ready first in the pan followed by the other. Whip up the soup mix, adding garlic, pepper, or whatever I feel like putting in that night. Pour it over the chops and potatoes and bake. Simple, quick and delicious. The whole family loved it. Thank You!!

Texas Caviar I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
This was excellent. I served it for my 4th of July party and everyone loved it. I love all the fresh ingredients! I also just add enough italian dressing to coat. I have added corn, it's good either way. I use multi colored peppers. I am a BIG fan of chips and salsa, and I haven't bought salsa again after I discovered this! I often whip this up to take to work or serve along side supper, its a good way to get your veggies. I have made it with just black eyed peas, tomato, sweet onion, jalapeno, and dressing, cause thats all I had and I was craving this! It tasted great like that too. Great recipe!!

Joanne's Super Hero Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
This is a GREAT sandwich! I made it for the Super Bowl and my family and friends devoured it. It is very accomodating to different meats cheeses and veggies. I omitted the mushrooms and used roasted red pepper flavored olives, added a little chopped onion and chopped pimento peppers to the sauce. This did work well in two oval shaped crusty breads. I couldnt find a round one. I will use this often.
