About this Cook
Married the boy "across the street" and have four wonderful children with him. Amazingly still in love after all these years.
My favorite things to cook
We love Mexican food and eat it probably twice a week. I love to bake, though don't have much time nowadays to do it except during my vacation around Christmas, when I am a cookie-baking fool!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grandma was a school cafeteria manager in the 1970s, and she was always looking for new recipes. I am following in her footsteps... I never met a cookbook I didn't like.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs really belong to my children. Every time one of them prepares a meal for our family, I feel like I've succeeded as a family cook.
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving dinner in the early 80s... I didn't realize that mashed potatoes could become paste!

Frosted Banana Bars
Made this cake in a 12X17 pan, so baked for only about 15 minutes. Used a home-made cream cheese frosting. YUM! Loved by the whole family.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins
Made these last night and enjoyed one for breakfast this morning. I used three bananas, since that was what I had available, so mine are pretty favorful. I also added some raw suger to the tops before baking, because I like the way. :) Very delicious and pretty little muffins that baked up tall and golden. I also liked that the recipe fit 12 muffins, as that is plenty to had on hand at one time.
