Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
This was my first attempt at potato salad, and it was a hit. Using the red potatoes saved time, and gave a nice color to the salad. The only thing I changed was replacing the onion with a few scallions. It had a milder oniony flavor. My family is already asking for another batch!

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These cookies were delicious. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used a tbs of lemon juice instead of extract. The cookies were soft and chewy. My daughters were able to help me roll the cookies into balls, and then roll them in the powdered sugar. It was so easy and a lot of fun for them. I can't wait to try this recipe with other cake mixes------I'm thinking strawberry, like some other reviewers have suggested.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
This was my first attempt at making a pie, and it turned out great! It was much easier than I thought it would be. I did bake it longer than the recipe calls for to bake the apples all the way through. The crust turned out with such a pretty glaze from the sauce being poured over it. My husband said it was almost too pretty to eat.........almost.

No Cook Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
Oh my goodness----I finally found it! I have been looking for the icing that my grandmother used on her angel food cake, and I never knew what it was called, or even what it was. I always thought it had marshmallows in it. It was so good and I finally came across a recipe that sounded right, but it was awfully complicated, and just before I tried it, I saw this recipe, and hallelujah--it was perfect. It was so easy, just a little time consuming since I used a hand mixer, but well worth it. It set up really well after I iced the cake and put it in the fridge for a few hours. Exactly what I was looking for. I am so excited to have found this easy and delicious recipe!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I simplified this recipe by leaving out the cream cheese and chives (I was all out) and I used precooked bacon and chicken breast tenders which shortened the cooking time. This dish still came out tasting great. I was looking for yet another quick and easy way to prepare chicken, and this was definitely a winner. I'm sure it would be good with the cream cheese, but as it was already pretty rich, I think it was best that I left out that step. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I have always made this recipe with milk, and I was thrilled with the results after using corn syrup instead. The color stayed nice and bright, and I love the hard shiny coating on top of soft, chewy sugar cookies. It also dried fairly quickly, so I was able to stack the cookies sooner--a big help when you make tons of cookies. This will definitely be my go-to cookie icing from now on. I just wish I was as artistic and creative as some of the other people on this site. There are some truly gorgeous pictures with this recipe. I end up just slathering or drizzling it on, but it tastes just as good!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I definitely give this recipe 5 stars. It was so easy, I followed the recipe exactly, and the cookies were firm, but nice and chewy after 7 minutes in the oven. This recipe made tons of cookies, and they were a hit at my daughters' schools.

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
This is my new go-to salsa recipe. The only change I made is to add a can of rotel tomatoes with green chiles instead of just the can of chiles. I also add more cilantro, since I LOVE cilantro. This salsa is SO easy to make that I keep some in the fridge all the time now, and will never buy store bought salsa again!

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
My family and I loved this recipe. I used boneless chicken breasts and cut back on the cooking time, of course. I also used italian style bread crumbs and extra parmesan. The flavor was great. I drizzled them with olive oil instead of butter, and they came out crispy and juicy. This recipe is also good with some marinara and mozarella cheese added at the end of baking time.

The Best Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
This was delicious. I cut the recipe in half, and my family was begging me to make it again a few days later. It was so easy to make that I whipped up another batch for them. I might have used a little bit less sweetened condensed milk than the recipe called for, but that was the only change I made.

Delicious Artichoke Dip

Very good. Next time I will use less parmesan--it was a bit much. This was very easy and I will make it again.
