About this Cook
I've enjoyed cooking since I worked in a restaurant in my teens.
My favorite things to cook
Breads of all types. I'm also beer brewer - guess I enjoy yeasts and grains. BBQ and grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A French bread made with beer and an old salt risin' bread recipe passed to me by my father. We also have a Thanksgiving tradition of scalloped peanuts and onions and an interesting sweet potato casserole that we never fail to fix.

Imitation Crab Salad
Excellent. Only used four eggs and instead of salt and pepper I seasoned it with Old Bay. Could easily substitute cooked macaroni or small shells for bread.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
This recipe has good flavor and easy but to call it stroganoff is a huge stretch. No mushrooms? No sour cream? OK maybe cream cheese substitutes for it - maybe or maybe not! No paprika? No onions? Margarine - yuck! If stroganoff taste is what you are after, there are far better choices out there.

Taco Seasoning I
Easy, uses spices in the pantry, and does the job tastefully. I always buy taco seasoning (and nearly all my seasonings) from a farmers' mkt and it is way cheaper than the prepackaged stuff. This is great when I run out or just want to make my own.
