Lemon Cupcake with Blackberry Buttercream

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
This makes 12 cupcakes, not more. They tasted good, but I did add a little lemon extract, because the batter didn't taste at all like lemon. I made strawberry-lemon frosting for these. Baked 20-22 minutes.

Limoncello

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
This is my first time making Limoncello. I wanted to try the Limoncello cake. I kept the lemon zest (part 1) for over 2 weeks. Then I made part 2. I just tasted it! after mixing the two, before letting it sit at room temperature for 2 weeks and it tasted delicious!!! Can't wait to finish this process and chill. Maybe I won't use it for that cake, or maybe I will make another one for the cake! so easy. But time consuming of course.

Miriam's Not-So-Secret Challah

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
I made 3 braided loafs using 2 ropes for each one (not 3) and 1 small round loaf. I left one plain, the other 2 with poppy seeds and the round one with sesame seeds. This bread was light and good. I brushed some melted butter on 2 of them after they baked. This is the first time I made challah. I have bought it before. I guess I thought this was going to be a little sweeter. It was very good though and easy to make!

Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
This tasted good. Not oily. This baked at 45 minutes for me in a springform pan. I thought that was a little too long. The icing is good, but a bit sweet. I made this for Easter!

Sweet Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
I hate making corn muffins because they never come out good. This recipe is delicious! My husband wanted corn muffins, so I figured let me try once more. I didn't have white sugar, I used Turbinado (Sugar in the raw) and they still came out great! Next time, I will try coconut oil instead of shortning. Mine baked in 20-22 minutes. These are delicious!

Apple Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
OMG!!! these are so good! I didn't have buttermilk, so I used sour cream. I also just needed a few muffins, so I made half the recipe. I used one green apple, granny smith. When putting on the topping, try to sprinkle towards the middle, otherwise, they melt all over the pan if you go too far to the sides. These are delicious! I did not put the topping on all of them, just to see how they taste and those were even great! Either way worked for us.

Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Very good. The batter was a little better than the actual muffin. Mini muffins bake at approximately 15 minutes. These muffins took 20 minutes. Next time, I will add more chips and maybe more sugar, salt? I don't know, somehting is missing. But they are good!

These are very good! I also made mini muffins, bake approximately for 15 minutes. The more the blueberries, the better. I wouldn't change anything about this recipe. Next time, I just might add nuts.

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
I don't really go for boxed recipes, but I had some French Vanilla boxed cake mix and wanted to try this. Also, I have yet to come across a homemade (no box) recipe that I like. This makes 28 cupcakes (filled batter almost to the top). Bake for 25-30 minutes. These tasted very good! extremely fluffy, a little sweet and the almond definitely comes through. I will continue trying other recipes for white and yellow cake, but so far this is good.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
Excellent! The only thing is, is that I didn't realize to put WHOLE WHEAT flour when neading, for some reason, it just completely slipped my mind and I continued using bread flour. Also, I put ALL of the honey and salt in the warm water and dissolved all of it together and did not wait 30 minutes. I mixed all the ingridients, then the flour last, kneaded the flour and let rise in a greased bowl. Then followed the recipe.....I'm not sure how much that changes the recipe, but done that way, it was excellent!!!!!! I made 18 servings (half) and baked for exactly 30 minutes. Nexzt time I will bae for 35 minutes. Perfection! Next time, I will make this exactly as the recipe says and re-rate. But I will also make it my way, the mistakes I made because it was still perfect bread.
