Very close to what I had growing up! I used bouillon cubes for more flavoring! Will use again.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
OK, it's easy and I actually put 3 cans of diced basil & garlic tomatoes and one can of tomato paste and some herbs and seasoning (salt/pepper) and frozen ground beef and regular noodles with 4 cups water, left it on high for 2 hours and (stirred it up) then left it on warm for another 5 hours while I went to work. Then I added ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese and stirred again and added salt. My kids loved it, the easiest thing to do!

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
Quick and easy like it says. A little crumbly and needed to cool off alot more before adding sugar and cinnamon. The kids enjoyed them for breakfast and will make again, perhaps I'll add one more egg to make it a little more dense. Great recipe!

Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
A dear friend of mine gave me this exact recipe and we both seemed to misplace the recipe when we get the "feel" to bake these. I just baked the biscotti and of course they came out wonderfully! One thing different that I did is when you cut the bread to shape the biscotti, and baked for 10 min (@ 300 F), then flip and bake the other side. I turn off the oven after 10 min and then leave them in there until they are absolutely cooled off. They come out more crunchy and drier for coffee! I also add dried fruits when I get the hankerin' - This is a fail proof recipe and I highly recommend it!

Marble Swirl Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
It's ok. I have tasted better from the store. Took longer in my oven but I think it's because I used a pampered chef ceramic loaf pan. I used less flour and added water to the cocoa batter, because it was like cookie dough! I probably should have used more vanilla or maybe some imitation rum to make it more fragrant. I think I might play with this one once more. Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
This was a big hit especially with the pumpkin as the bowl! Great seasonal appetizer. The consistency of this dip is like a mouse and you definitely need the sweeter cookies (like graham cracker sticks) Also, I mixed the pumpkin and vanilla pudding powder together and then added the cool whip and added the pumpkin spice. I increased the spice 1/4 tsp more. I just felt I couldn't taste it at first. I don't know if it really needed it. It was great over all and super easy!

Artichoke and Crabmeat Triangles

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
This was a good base for a dip. I needed to kick it up with some more seasonings to give it some umph. I eyed some garlic and herb seasonings and no mayo. Got some great reviews from friends.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
This came out wonderful! I used my kitchen Aid instead of the bread machine and baked this in the oven. I also cut down the sugar to 1/2 cup. Remember this will make 2 loaves. Instead of using oil for the bowl I sprayed cooking spray in the bowl prior to me putting the dough in and then I sprayed the dough on top and covered with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. I will definitely use this again and again. My family loved this recipe!

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This recipe is really nice, you can make any kind of adjustments. I used pork sausage in my meatball mixture and used a little more garlic and bread crumbs. I also boiled the orzo separately with salted water, then rinsed with cold water to stop the cooking process. I added the orzo 5 minutes before serving and I did not loose any of the broth and it was even better the next day! Enjoy!

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I followed the tips from the readers review and used chickpeas instead of hominy. (Cumin instead of oregano) To make more broth I just boiled the bones of the chicken quarters and added it to the end and just added more seasonings if needed. I also added corn - Delicious!!! A big hit from my family and church friends!
