Married with 2 young sons. I have a college degree and have worked various jobs on college campuses. Now I am a household manager! I genuinely enjoy grocery shopping: what a luxury! This summer our garden includes tomatoes, eggplant, cabbage, spinach, peas, herbs, peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, gourds.

My cooking tragedies
Making fresh tomato soup with tomatoes from my garden: when I poured it into the blender, I had forgotten the screw on the bottom, so the hot soup went right through and mostly down the drain. (At least I was holding it over the sink!)

Salmon and Asparagus with Penne and Light Cream Sauce
Dreamy sauce! I doubled for 4 servings, but found that I did not need to double the oil and cream and still had plenty of sauce. I used light cream instead of heavy. (as in the title of the recipe!) Don't skimp on the garlic and lemon--you'll love it.

Paksiw na Pata (Pig's Feet Stew)
We had been to a pig roast, Filipino-style, and came home with a leg and other meaty bones and some Mang Tomas All-Purpose Sauce. This easy stew recipe was just right for using our leftovers. Quite tangy from the vinegar, but tasty and so simple to make and serve with rice. You can order the Mang Tomas Sauce online.

Moist Persimmon Cookie
I just can't decide whether I like persimmons. These were enjoyable, but I don't know that I'd make them again unless someone gave me some persimmons. Mine did not spread like in the photo, so they looked kind of clumpy.
