About this Cook
I LOVE food, but I am severely lacking in the cooking department. My skills are rudimentary at best, and I have little to no confidence in my abilities. Unless, of course, I'm making bruschetta, or mixing drinks. Then, I'm bloody fantastic. :) I'm here trying to build my repetoir and gain some skills.
My favorite things to cook
I love making bruschetta, because it always comes out EXCELLENT! My recipie comes from How It All Vegan. I also have a pizza fetish, and greatly enjoy making fancy cocktails.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Um, not many.
My cooking triumphs
I actually managed to improvise, and make some amazing asperagus with spinach the other day, with the assistance of two tablespoons of butter and some vegetable bullion. Woo!
My cooking tragedies
I tried baking a rhubarb pie this past summer with disasterious results. My crust sort of disolved into the pie, and the filling was, just, wrong. A total failure. I don't know that I'll be trying my hand at pie again any time soon. What a bummer.

Tuna Curry in a Hurry
Tried this last night. I used olive oil instead of butter, and ended up adding some canned tomatoes because the sour cream flavor was pretty overwhelming. It turned out alright, but this was definately far too sour creamy and not enough curry. Stil, tasted pretty good with some brown rice and a little salt. I will make this again, but I'll use plain yogurt next time and plan on adding tomatoes ahead of time.
