About this Cook
I love being in the kitchen. I have my own hens so love collecting fresh eggs for my baking. Love to make the house smell good.
My favorite things to cook
Scratch recipes! No shortcuts. My granmother baked with me and we never used anything from a box.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas breads, stollen, swedish tea rings. Love southern cooking -- biscuits that are fluffy and good basic cooking. I also love to make myself healthy dishes!
My cooking triumphs
Fluffy biscuits, poultry, potroast, pies.
My cooking tragedies
My scratch cakes need help! My cupcakes fall. :-(

Cinnamon-Apple Cake AKA Hanukkah Cake
Okay, this was great. I followed the recipe. It was moist and so flavorful. I don't think I have ever tried a recipe here and liked it so much. This is a keeper and I will add it to my favorites.

Chicken Pot Pie IX
Great recipe. Only things I did differently for more flavor: after sauteing the onions along with two cloves of garlic salt/pepper in olive oil and 1 T butter, I actually added the diced carrots and potatoes, I did do the fresh beans in water however. All veggies were partial cooked so as not to get soggy. I added the chopped chicken to the broth and thickened as indicated in this recipe. It turned out great.
