The Best Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
followed directions as written with the only exception I added 2 jalapeno's and 1 cherry hot pepper w/ seeds! I like my salsa spicy. I would never thought to add cumin to salsa- that made a huge delicious difference. I also scooped out the seeds from the tomatoes and used mostly the outer skin-makes the salsa less watery!!!!. Tks for the recipe!

Rice and Lentil Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2013
This is a perfect recipe for a Rice Cooker!!!! I cooked the rice and lentils together in my rice cooker w/ a pinch of cardamom. Cooked the sausage, green peppers and used mushrooms instead of onions-don't like them. Combined when rice/lentil ready....My family LOVED it!!!! This has added to my recipe box!

Perfect Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
These really ARE the Perfect Coconut Macaroon! I'm always leary when I read reviews that it's the best recipe; however this is true to me. They taste just like my local bakery and since I can control the amount of sugar added_- I cut amount of sugar in half (actually doesn't really need sugar at all!). I just stirred in bowl, not in food processor, cause I like the taste of coconut flakes and baked at 325 for 17-19 minutes or a bit crispy brown on top. I made for a family party and were gone in minutes! Tks for this great recipe-it's a definite keeper for macaroons!

Rice Cooker Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
This is THE perfect recipe for a rice pudding using a rice cooker!!! Simple and super delicious! I don't like rice pudding too mushy, so I cut the 2nd addition of milk way down... I now plan to make this dessert for my family's Christmas gathering! Tks for this awesome recipe!!!!- it's a keeper in my book!

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
goodbye boxed cake mix! I made the chocolate version. Only change I made was to use canola oil instead of shortening. It tasted like it came from a bakery...fresh, perfectly dense, yet moist. I made 6 jumbo cupcakes (Wilton's 6- 2 piece cupcake pan) and just put frosting between the layers & on top cause the sides didn't need to be "hidden" by the delicious tasting cake! This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Spinach Artichoke Hummus with Roasted Red Peppers

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Great recipe! Revisions I made: used tahini instead of sesame seeds & put the garlic right in processor w/ the chick peas instead of toasting it. Very tasty...my family loved it! Thanks for the recipe!

Cherry Pepper Poppers

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
these are delicious! I made w/ hard salami instead of prosciutto-much tastier! Also, because I made a huge jar, I rotated the jar every day so the olive oil didn't have time to solidify. Also added some vinegar to the jar for even more flavor.

Thank you for this excellent recipe! I did use beef broth as well as water & added the veges at the last hour of cooking as other reviewers suggested. Beef was so flavorful & veges were done perfectly! (reubens R on my dinner menu this week). Definitely WILL make again!

Best Zucchini Appetizer

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Great appetizer recipe! I put the batter in my mini cupcakes pan (instead of the square cuts U get from a pan). I did grate the zucchini & drained on paper towel. I added lots of habenero's for extra hot flavor and sprinled parmesan cheese on top when just about cooked! I brought to a family party and were gone in no time...Everyone loved them!

Craig's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
It is better than store bought! But I like mine hotter. I buy homemade horseradish in my Town--and it's VERY hot. I found I still had to add a couple extra tablespoons. I made haddock fish frys and put the sauce on them...delicious!

Grilled Zucchini II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Great idea & very tasty! (I usually just brush w/ olive oil & dash w/ salt & pepper.) I also put a slice of fresh mozzarela & sliced tomato on top of the hot off the grill zucchini. Makes for a tasty snack on a hot day.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
Recipe is a keeper!!! I've made this a few times allready and it does NOT last in my household! I used the bread machine a couple of times and then for a party at work, I took it out of the bread machine after the rising process, BRAIDED IT AND BAKED IT IN THE OVEN. Everyone loved it! I added extra rosemary and cracked pepper...delicious
