Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
Incredible toffee recipe and very easy to follow. This was my first time making toffee and it turned out perfectly. I chopped almonds and sprinkld them on the parchment, then poured the hot toffee over the almonds. On top I spread chopped pecans over the chocolate. Friends, family, and coworkers have raved about and asked for this toffee recipe. I will definitely be making this toffee again.

Curried Cumin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
I took the advice of the reviewer who said to pan fry the potatoes in the seasoning prior to cooking. This definitely helped. I like a lot of spice and flavor, so the cilantro was a great addition. The potatoes were best the following day.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
Very good marinade. I only had garlic salt, and it was a mistake to use it. The garlic salt made the marinade too salty, definitely make sure you use garlic powder as the resipe calls for! Otherwise the flavor was pretty great!

Hearty Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
This recipe was just okay. Very bland. I doubled it and cooked it in the crockpot on high, and it was fully cooked in 5.5 hours. That said, the flour clumped slightly and even though I tried to add more seaoning it seemed very bland. I didn't have any bay leaves and that probably would have helped tremendously. While I didn't like the recipe, my fiance really enjoyed it. I agree with previous reviewers that this recipe is a good start but needs work on the flavor.

BUSH'S® Best 3-Bean Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
This chili recipe has become a family staple because it is so adaptable. The flavor is pleasing to everyone at the basic level. I like more spice so I add jalapenos, my sister likes moresweet so she adds more cinnamon and some nutmeg. The previous reviewer was confused as to if you drain the beans or not. Do not drain the beans as the juice acts as the liquid base of the chili. I recommend making it exactly as the recipe calls once and then trying new variations each subsequent time!

Easy Pasta Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Great recipe! I substituted 1 box of spaghetti and added a can of chicken broth. Then I added basil, garlic salt, and red pepper. For the chicken, I used flour, spices, and egg to pan fry the chicken. It was fantastic with the pasta!

2-Step Garlic Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Delicious recipe and so easy! I didn't have milk but sumstituted with water and butter and the recipe was great. The one recommendation I would make is to increase the cream of mushroom soup to two cans. I used three pork chops and 2.5 cups of rice with one can of cream of mushroom soup and it was just right for my fiance and me. Therefore, with 4 cups of rice it may not be saucy enough. I seasoned the porkshops and added thinly slice onions to the garlic and pork chops. These were a great add if you like onions.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This dip is a hit at every cookout or get together. It is so popular among frinds and family, that we alternate who makes it. I add habanera sauce for added spice!

Garlic Curry Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
Really great flavors! I used ground turkey, A1 instead of the steak seasoning, and no evaporated milk and some how went very wrong with this combination. The burger meat was so runny that I had to transfer to a grilling skillet instead of the grill. Maybe the ground turkey is just wetter than ground beef. Still, the flavor was great and a nice change from the norm!

Wow! This recipe is fantastic! The coating was incredibly flavorful - restaurant quality. We did a marinara sauce flavored by green peppers, mushroom, and onion and the combination was out of this world.

Grandma's Gnocchi

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
If you have never made gnocchi, like me, then this is a great starter recipe. Follow the advice of other cooks and make sure your potatoes are mashed to a smooth consistancy or you will have potatoe chunks in your pasta. I used 5 medium to large potatoes and probably about 1.5 to 2 cups of flour. The dough is very sticky but holds together well. When you roll it on the counter, any additional flour that is needed is picked up. As a first time gnocchi maker, it was difficult to know what to look for, but such a pleasure to try. We will definitely be making gnocchi again!

An absolute favorite! These are just like the peanut butter balls from my childhood. We are making these as Christmas candy and realized they are also delicious dipped in chocolate bark.

Chicken Noodle Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Wow! This soup is an excellent easy base. I love the simplicity of the recipe. I followed the advice of others and added bullion. Then I seasoned with celery flakes, parsley, oregano, basil, garlic salt, garlic powder, and a couple dashes of curry. The flavor was magnificent. I also increased the onion. The flavors that stand out are the celery flakes, curry, garlic, and onion. Thanks!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This ziti recipe was incredible. I used 2 layers of light sour cream (1 16 oz.) container and only one jar of spaghetti sauce, but I kept everything else the same. The sour cream adds so much flavor and compliments the spaghetti sauce nicely. I will definitely be making this recipe on a regular basis.
