About this Cook
I LOVE good food! I've been cooking since I was 4 years old. Not a vegetarian exactly, but not big on meat either. Aside from my vegetarian sis-in-law, I'm pretty much surrounded by meat-and-potato people.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood, Danish, Italian, Asian, Vegetarian, Soul Food, Desserts...the list goes on and on, really.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I look forward to holiday food everytime one comes around - especially Thanksgiving. mmmm stuffing/squash/mashed potatoes/cranberry sauce...! I also enjoy planning elaborate menus for special occasions.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime people ask me for a recipe or mention something I made and served long after they tasted it - love that!
My cooking tragedies
I think I've left most of my cooking tragedies behind, but I'm not ruling out any in the future.

Pecan Clouds
Delicious! ** There are a few helpful tips I found to make your egg whites/meringue perfect. 1. Make sure all mixing tools are impeccably clean and dry before starting. 2. Cold eggs separate more easily, but the ideal temp. for whipping eggs whites is room temp. 3. Keep yolks out of the whites as even a tiny amount of fat or yolk will ruin your meringue. 4. Add sugar to your whites gradually - a few spoonfulls at a time. 5. To test and make sure the sugar is dissolved into your egg whites: Rub a little of the beaten whites between your fingers - if the mixture feels gritty, the sugar is not completely dissolved. Beat in short increments until the whites are completely smooth. ** I roughly chopped my pecans which made each bite of these lovely little clouds even more heavenly! Thanks for this recipe, Joe! NOTE: another reviewer mentioned not being able to use a hand mixer to achieve stiff peaks - this is not true. You can not only use a hand mixer, but also whip by hand! I've done both. It just takes some patience.

Sweet and Sour Drumettes
This is basically a really nice recipe, but after reading some helpful reviews, I changed a couple of things slightly. Instead of the 1 cup of sugar, which I thought was completely ridiculous, I used 1/4 cup honey and 2 Tbsp. sugar. I changed the 1/2 cup vinegar to 3 Tbsp. I also seasoned the drumsticks and flour with salt and pepper and added a few pinches of red pepper flakes to the sauce. I know it's not fair to give a lower review when a recipe has been changed, but the only reason I'm actually not giving this recipe 5 stars is because of the amount of sugar being so over the top.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies
These are ridiculously good! I ended up making them twice in a week and a half! I had all the ingredients on hand so they were really easy, too. I brought some with to class and everyone loved them. Thanks!
