I'm a stay-at-home mum of 3, (& step-mum of 2), happily married to man who loves the fact that I can cook. I love to cross-stitch, potter in the kitchen or the garden, and listen to music.
My favorite things to cook
I love experimenting in the kitchen, but my roast leg of lamb with pan-juice simmered vegies really rocks!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandma came up with a recipe called "Chookie Rice" which is a recipe passed down through generations - I'm teaching one of my sons to make it, and already passed the recipe on to my eldest step-daughter.
My cooking triumphs
One of my friends gave me a Butter Chicken recipe that is just brilliant. It made my day when I cooked it for him, and he said it was even better than when he makes it.
My cooking tragedies
Let's just say, there have been some. Actually, the first time I made a stir-fry was shocking. Since that day, I have labelled my canisters so that cornflour and icing sugar never get mixed up again!!

Four Cheese Sauce
Mmmm...can you hear that? That's the sound of my arteries clogging! And you know what? I just don't care, because this is magnificent! The only change I made was to throw in a little fresh chopped marjoram from my garden, as I like to eat something I've grown with every meal. Really lovely!

Christmas Cake
I've been meaning to review this recipe for a while - it's wonderful! I made this in November ready for our solstice celebration in December...and we're still eating it in March! This is quite a lot of work (but that appeals to me), and certainly isn't "cheap" to make, but the number of servings it provides and the fact that it keeps brilliantly in the pantry means it is excellent value for money and well worth the effort.

Lovely! Mine turned out a smidgen flat, so I simply cut it in half, sandwiched it with passionfruit icing, then iced the top. gorgeous!
