Sweet and Hot Apple Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
This was a great recipe but I changed a lot... I couldn't find chipotle peppers so instead I dumped half a jar of salsa on top of the pork. Didn't have apple pie filling so I just cut up some apples, mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon and dumped on top. I loved it this way! Not too spicy and a great different recipe than plain old crock pot pork.

Doubletree Hotel's Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
This is my new go- to chocolate chip cookie recipe. It is so good! Tastes like the hotel's too! I didn't have regular chips so I substituted 2 cups mini chips and 1 cup chunks. I did what another reviewer said and froze rolled balls so that we can just pull them out as wanted and always have fresh, hot baked cookies on hand! Why have I never thought of this?

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
This is the BEST aflredo sauce ever! So simple and easy and easily changed to your liking. I have made it twice already. THe first time I followed the directions only adding a bit of nutmeg and using whole milk. It was excellent and rich. The next time I cut it back to skim milk and was perfect to my family's liking; rich but not overly so and super flavorful. I served over liguine with sauteed chicken. It does make a lot of sauce though, so I had leftovers.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
My husband requests these all the time and he hates sweets! They are the perfect combination of a chocolate chip cookie and a slight peanut butter taste. Refrigerating the dough really helped keep the shape.

MMM these were awesome! I only changed the PB to creamy but otherwise kept the same and they came out perfect. Nice subtle PB taste.

Chocolate Mice

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
These were so fun on top of my "cheese"cake. I used the caramel tails which made them look really realistic. For "cheese"cake I basically took a regulare cheescake recipe, reserved a half cup of batter, added 5 drops yellow food coloring to the main batter and poured in pan then added 15 drops to the reserved and piped in circles over the cake so it looked like a cheese wheel. Topped with the mice and some chocolate sprinkles it looked really cool for my Halloween party!

Awesome! My only change was I made them into jumbo muffins and upped the cook time to 20-25 mins.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
So good! I added a small squirt of mustard to bring out all the tastes. With leftovers I scooped out small bites, dipped in milk and then bread crumbs and fried for fried mac n cheese! So bad for you, but so yummy.

Classic Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
Yum! I gave it a 4 because I made a few changes. I used a whole jar spaghetti sauce, added chopped garlic, garlic powder, some bread crumbs, italian seasoning to the meat, used egg whites, baked 20 mins at 425 then 30 mins at 400 and topped with some part skim mozzarella cheese. But I loved the technique of boiling the peppers first and then adding ingredients uncooked. It is much easier and tastier than cooking first. I had never tried it this way and will always make it this way from now on! Thanks!

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
I took other's advice and skipped the taco seasoning. I seasoned with olive oil and sea salt and then cooked 425 for 20 min and 400 for 30 mins and they were awesome! A few burned but that's ok.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Awesome! I thought this would be a lot of garlic but it was perfect! I didn't cook it like it said though, I was scared! I ended up cooking for 20 mins at 450 then an hour and a half at 325 for my 6.5 pound roast. It came our perfectly rare and I added potatoes and carrots to the pan to cook as well and they soaked up some of the juices which made them taste wonderful.

Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Maybe I didn't use enough raspberries but mine came out like jelly. It was really thick and the taste was very starchy. Definitely not my fave.

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
These are so easy and tasty! I used my large muffin pans and Grands biscuits so everything fit nicely. I did have to use 3 more eggs to fill them though and cook a little longer. I also used ham instead of sausage because that was what I had. I think next time my only change would be to mix the cheese in with the eggs.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
I would never have thought to use mountain dew for any kind of recipe but it really was fabulous! The recipe is so simple and good. I did reduce the sugar to 1 cup and the butter to one stick and I even think next time I may reduce sugar more since it is so sweet. I used fuji apples and topped with vanilla ice cream and it was so good! A definite keeper.

Carrot Patties

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
I followed directions exactly and no one in my family liked them. Bland with a weird texture and tasted like eggs. Maybe they might be better if boiled, mashed and mixed with sugar and cinammon and then formed and fried...Sorry to those who did like them but I really wonder how it got 4 stars...

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I loved these. Although the recipe is the exact same as the one on back of the oatmeal lid except with cloves.... But that one ingredient changes everything and made them perfect! I added pecans.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
I had never tried to make pretzels before and these were so easy! Of course since it was my first time they did not come out looking like mall pretzels... I had trouble rolling them out long enough so they kinda clumped together and made pretzel- rolls. But they were awesome nonetheless. I made 6 pretzels, topped half with butter and coarse sea salt and the other half with butter and cinnamon and sugar. I did not change recipe at all. They did taste just like mall pretzels
