Brown Rice and Black Bean Casserole

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
This recipe is very unique and my husband and I loved it. It's kind of unusual on the first bite or two, but really grows on you after that. I would say it is probably not for everyone, though as it has a very distinctive blend of flavors. After reading the reviews, I did leave out the carrots. It is a fair amount of work, but worth it if you aren't in a hurry or can make it up ahead of time.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
I used this recipe the first time I ever made chili and was so pleased with the results. This is a terrific "standard" chili recipe with very predictable results. I will use it for years to come.

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This was the best green bean casserole I've ever made. Definitely better than the old standard on the side of the can of french fried onions! I did use fresh mushrooms and real bacon and I think it was the right thing to do.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
For taste, I would probably give this recipe 4 - 4 1/2 stars. The reason it gets 5 stars is for a) the simplicity and b) the versatility. This is truly the easiest recipe I have ever thrown in the Crock Pot. I made it for the first time and served the meat with whole wheat tortilla shells, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, and low-fat sour cream for chicken soft tacos. Everyone loved it. What I love, though, is that every reviewer has done something different with it. It is like getting 50 recipes (more, really) in 1 simple recipe. I can't wait to try all the ideas others had. This will be a great, easy idea for serving a large group while everyone is together over the holidays or for any kind of party. I think I'm going to put this meat into the "Make Ahead Lunch Wraps" that I love from this site. Anyway, I could go on and on, but I am really excited about this new discovery. Thanks for sharing!

Perfect! This was delicious with the Key Lime Pie VII recipe and will be great with many others. I can't wait to try it again with a different pie!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
I've made this twice and it was wonderful both times. Each time I marinated the meat for 24 hours and ended up with a wonderful flavor and very tender meat. The first time I made this, I ran out of soy sauce and ended up using about 1/2 soy sauce and 1/2 Moore's meat marinade. I actually think the flavor was better on that one. Either way, this is a fantastic recipe that I doubt my family will ever get tired of.

Super easy, basic pancake recipe with ingredients you always have on hand. The results are surprisingly delicious and bring raves every time I make them. My go-to pancake recipe.

Cajun Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
This was very good. I left out the cayenne pepper and the spice was just right for most of my family. Those who like a little more spice just added more hot sauce.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I made this for my office and everyone raved. There were no leftovers. I made it exactly as the recipe says, except I used french vanilla instead of regular pudding because that was all I could find. I also did what one other reviewer did and made the cinnamon/sugar mix with pecans in only half, so those that don't like/can't eat nuts could still enjoy the cake. It was terrific and I can't wait to make it again.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
I made this recipe exactly as it says and it was wonderful. My family loves "cinnamon apples" and I was disappointed with a baked apple recipe from this site. This is faster, easier and tastier. Thanks for sharing.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
This is absolutely delicious and disappeared in less than 48 hours. Everyone was upset when they realized it was all gone already! The only comment I have is that I had to bake it for over 70 minutes and it still was not quite as done as it should have been. My oven is usually pretty accurate, too. Anyway, this is my new staple banana bread. Thanks for sharing!

Pumpkin Pie Spice I

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This is hard to rate, because you can't really comment on the taste of the spice alone. I love having the recipe, though, so I can make my own pumpkin pie spice when I need it. So far, anything I've made with it has been wonderful.
