Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
This is a smooth, delicious key lime pie. I used the lime juice in a bottle, because I just couldn't bring myself to squeeze 20-30 little limes. If it wasn't good, I would have tried it again with fresh lime juice, but why bother? It was wonderful! The only other comment I have is that I do think it is just a little too sweet. I may modify it a bit next time with that in mind. There will definitely be a next time!

Perfect! This was delicious with the Key Lime Pie VII recipe and will be great with many others. I can't wait to try it again with a different pie!

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
So far I have only tried this on toast, but it is amazing! Next time, though, I think I will cut the confectioner sugar in half. I really think it is sweeter than it needs to be. Excellent recipe, though. The cinnamon is the ticket!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
This frosting is amazing! I used it on the banana bar recipe and took it to work. Everyone raved about the frosting! This will be my standard cream cheese frosting.

Lemon Horseradish New Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
This is a very good, but not amazing recipe. I served these potatoes with the marinated flank steak recipe and it was a perfect flavor combination! Everyone liked them, but no one was blown away by them. I will definitely make them again.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
I've made this twice and it was wonderful both times. Each time I marinated the meat for 24 hours and ended up with a wonderful flavor and very tender meat. The first time I made this, I ran out of soy sauce and ended up using about 1/2 soy sauce and 1/2 Moore's meat marinade. I actually think the flavor was better on that one. Either way, this is a fantastic recipe that I doubt my family will ever get tired of.

Gooey Butter Cake III

This is delicious, but very, very sweet. I will definitely make it again, but only for a large crowd as a little bit goes a long way.

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
This is the first time I have ever made chicken salad and am very pleased with the results. I used 2 cans of canned chicken. I didn't have any golden raisins, so I used Craisins as others and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again.

Quinoa Tabbouleh

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
This recipe has potential, but is kind of boring as is. It is very refreshing and a nice summer salad, but I agree with others who felt it was missing something. I could definitely imagine it with cilantro and/or cumin. I would have given it 4 stars, but my husband, who likes everything, really did not care for it.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I actually thought this was very good, but no one else in my family cared for it. 5/10/10: I upgraded my rating to 4 stars. I took this to work for lunch everyday for a week and it is delicious. So what if my husband and children don't like it. I think it is excellent and will make it for myself again. It keeps and reheats very well. 4/1/12: I've upgraded to 5 stars. I don't care that my family won't eat it. It's delicious and healthy. A perfect dish in my mind!!

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
I wanted to try turkey chili as a healthier alternative for the traditional version. I will probably never make beef chili again, however this was not, on the whole, the most flavorful chili recipe I've ever made. I will probably try using turkey in one of the other turkey recipes from this site in the future -- though this really was very good. UPDATE: I changed my rating to 5 stars after eating this on the second day...definitely more flavorful!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
This is a great recipe and a wonderful revelation that turkey can be done safely in a slow cooker. I was nervous that it would not get thoroughly cooked, so I cooked it a little longer than the recipe says. Mine was actually a little dry, but I assume full responsibility for that. I will definitely make this again and again in the future for how easy and healthy it is.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
These are delicious. Shredding the carrots is the most time consuming part. Otherwise, pretty straightforward. I did as others suggested and used 1/4 c. oil and 3/4 c. unsweetened applesauce. I also used whole wheat flour. I know I should try the recipe as originally written first, but I was afraid I might like the less healthy version better. I figure if I try it the healthier way and like it, I'll never know what I'm missing! I think you could easily cut the sugar back to 1 c. and never miss it. Anyway, these are great! Not low-cal, but full of good stuff!
