I've been married for almost five years now, I'm a stay at home mom. I have one daughter who is 15 months old. I'm hoping to learn how to cook really well so I can teach her eventually!
My favorite things to cook
My mother is an expert cook. I didn't realize this until I moved out and got married. It was then that I wished I would have paid more attention to how and what she cooked. Now I am married and I enjoy cooking. I always get excited about cooking after I've made something I didn't think I could make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom used to make huge meals and my whole family (5 kids, 4 in laws and at the time 9 nieces/nephews) would all come over and we'd hang out and eat. and eat and eat...
Each year my mom would make candy and cookies for Christmas, I remember helping her a couple times. Problem was I just loved her chocolate....
I'm hoping to start some cooking traditions of my own soon.
My cooking triumphs
Chicken noodle soup. I know it's easy, but boy it was good. I love my chicken fajitas, stir fry, people love my chocolate chip cookies. Scalloped potatoes are pretty good too.
My cooking tragedies
HAHA... once I was making chocolate chip cookies for my husband's mom and sister. I didn't have any butter so they told me to use margarine instead. I'm not sure if that was the bad thing or not, but the dough wouldn't thicken, so I added a little more flour, still runny. Added a little bit more flour. Still runny. this went on and on, finally I decided to just cook it anyway. guess what? I ended up with a really yummy chocolate chip muffin type cookie. They were actually delicious.
