About this Cook
I'm 16. Baking is probably one of my favourite hobbies. I always make too much for my family to eat so I bring it to school and have them taste test.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Most likely since it's so easy for me to bring to school to share with everyone, and everyone loves dessert right?
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma has this chinese meatball and some kind of veggie recipe where you cook it in a pan and something about those meatballs are magical. I don't even really know the recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I liked making my own recipes. I created this chestnut chinese dumpling and got mixed reviews partly because it was so odd eating a sweet dumpling. I'm getting better everyday which is great. =)
My cooking tragedies
I kind of forgot. Way way back ago I suppose.

Croissants
Great recipe. Comes out flaky and makes your house smell great. I did the folding routine 2 extra times. Never let your butter get too soft/melted. It'll saturate the dough and come out gummy. I took my triangles and rolled them out a bit more into isoceles. I also pinched the ends together to make lil circles. Cute.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins
This recipe is delicious, and I agree with everyone, 2 cups of sugar would be too much. I doubled the recipe so I kept it at 2 cups of white sugar, and mixed in around 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Only when mixing the brown sugar doesn't appear to blend in very well, and you can only mix by hand, and not too much, so it does create a dilemmna. Don't base how much sugar you put in on the taste of the batter. The batter tasted overly sweet but the result was just right. I found the pumpkin taste and the spices weren't very prominent, and I like the spices so next time I'd put in 2 tsps of cinnamon, 3/4 tsp nutmeg, 3/2 tsp allspice, and some more pumpkin. I also pulled out the muffins/loaf around 20 minutes in and sprinkled with more streusel.

Cream Puffs
I made this for a class project and everyone loved them. My friend was impressed cause he thought cream puffs were on a whole new baking level. I tried to tell him this recipe is beyond easy. I used my tablespoon measuring scoops and shaped as if it were icecream. I find using the baking paper doesn't leave you with that slightly flat end.
