Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Served these at a party. Most people enjoyed these, but mostly my husband, I think he ate a dozen of them himself. I only changed one thing in the recipe. I used 1 cup buttermilk baking mix and 1 cup crushed herb stuffing. I baked on a broiler as another reviewer suggested.

Baked Cheese Olives

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I would like to start by saying, I love olives, I eat them right out of the jar....but this recipe, yuck! I only ate 1, and most of our guests only ate one also. We did have one guests that thought they were great, but everyone else voted to not have them again.

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I made this but had to use a few subsitutions. I couldn't find ladyfingers or marsacapone cheese. So I used crushed chocolate teddy grahams crackers for the crust and the cheese sub in the reviews, using 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup cream. I did end up using more cream to thin out the batter. Topped with whipped cream and grated chocolate.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Served this at our italian wine tasting night and everyone loved it. I followed others advice and patted the ham and peppers with and pre-baked the bottom crust for about 5 minutes. I didn't use any swiss, but I used extra meat and cheese. Really good.

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Very tasty. I did have to sub bacon for the pancetta becuase neither of our grocery stores had it. I thought it was a little dry, even though I added at little extra butter, tomato sauce and cream to the sauce. Would probably double next time. Also added some red pepper flakes as other suggested and sauted the bacon with a clove of crushed garlic.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
Very good. I added an extra 1/4 cup flour after reading some reviews of the dough being too sticky. I used my cookie scoop and got about 48 cookies.

These taste alright, but my "crust" was kinda gooey almost...like a soft granola bar. Might try again.....

Sicilian Brasciole a la Lena

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I would probably give this 3 1/2 stars. It was ok, not as great as I thought it would be with all the work involded. It was a different way to use round steak though.

Didn't use any red pepper, just green. Seasoned chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder and a little cumin. Used Premium Pizza Crust recipe from this site. Very good.

Premium Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
Finally a crust that doesn't taste like bread! I did the overnight method, and also needed another cup of flour. Used my Kitchen-Aid with the dough hook and added a little bit of italian seasoning.

Orange Cream Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
I really wanted to like this, but its too sweet, just too much of something. It does taste like a orange push-up, but I could only eat 2-3 bites and that was enough. Would not make again.

Deer Chop Hurry

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I hate deer meat, but we had a few packages in the freezer so I found this recipe and decided to try it. I left my meat in apple cider for 2 days, then I trimmed it and cut into strips. Put everything in the crock-pot, added some other stuff and some BBQ sauce. Made into BBQ's and served on buns. No-one but me could tell it was deer meat.
