Microwave Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This is a great idea, I never thought of cooking cobs in the microwave before! I put a very wet towel on the bottom of the plate and put the corn on top, then covered with another towel. I did not wrap each one. The cooked a little uneven but I'm sure it was our microwave.

Orange Breakfast Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Pretty good. I used 2-1lb loaves(doubled other else also) and rolled and filled just like cinnamon rolls. Instead of the glaze I made a frosting with a stick of butter, some orange juice and powdered sugar. They were very light, a differnt kind of texture. Everyone at my husbands work loved them though.

Cranberry Nut Bagels

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
These smelled really great, but I think the cinnamon took away from the cranberries, they ended up tasting more like raisins. I didn't use any nuts. Was ok, but won't make again.

Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Overall was a good recipe. I didn't care for the crust so much, but everyone loved the "cream sauce". I used strawberries, kiwi, fresh peach and some canned pineapple as I need to juice to make the glaze. Brought home an empty dish.

Made this with the "Hot Fudge" recipe from this site since I didn't want to go to the store. Used cashews instead of peanuts.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
Made this recipe as my first attempt at bisciuts. I didn't knead...just mixed and patted. I did pat to thin, but now I know for next time. Will make again.

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
Made this for my husband to take to work with JP's biscuits. Fast and easy....I didn't have any bacon grease so I added a little oil to have enough fat to mix with the flour. Cooked it up and threw it in the crockpot so it would stay warm. Will make again.

I doubled this and froze the leftovers. My husband really liked these. A good subsitute for buttermilk pancakes...since I was out of buttermilk.

Chocolate Pudding Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
Not very good. I followed the directions. I did add 2 sqaures of semi-sweet Bakers chocolate, chopped, hoping it would make it a little better after reading some reviews that it was bland and floury. The "sauce" was kinda werid. Will not make again.

Fresh Pear Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
Made with a few changes....1 1/2 cups of sugar instead of 2 and 1 cup of oil with 1/2 cup or so of sour cream. Also used 1 large, peeled apple diced becuase I did not have enough pears. Baked in a bundt pan and topped with a caramel frosting recipe from this site. I had one slice to try it and sent the rest with my husband to work. I thought it tasted like a spice muffin.

Caramel Frosting VI

This was just ok. Didn't taste as much like caramel as I would have liked and I could taste the flour. Goes from runny to hard VERY quickly.
