Firecracker Fried Chicken Drumsticks

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
OOohhhhhhhhhhh WOW! GOOD stuff! I used a little more hot sauce for the marinade, and added cayenne and paprika to the breading, they were PERFECT! Thanks so much!

Homemade Pancake Mix

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
I really like this recipe! They're a little thin for me, so I just cut back on the milk. I used this for the Apple Sausage pancakes elsewhere on the site (REALLY good, btw), and they turned out perfectly! The whole wheat flour really gives it more flavor AND texture. Very filling. :) Good stuff, Wendy! Thanks!

Apple Sausage Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
I can't say enough good about this recipe. My fiance is NOT a pancake person, so I was digging for recipes he might like, and he LOVED this one. I made them again for my sister, who is also not a pancake person, and SHE loved 'em! They are filling and flavorful, even without syrup, which I don't care for. I wanted to make the Cider syrup, but couldn't find any cider. That'll wait til fall. WELL DONE! Incidentally, I used the homemade pancake mix from elsewhere on the site, so that may make a difference for some of you. Also, bulk sausage breaks up a little easier for this recipe than the rolled prepackaged stuff, which is cheaper. :) 5 Stars for you, Kathy!

Buckeye Balls I

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
Tasted fabulous, but they were blobs, not balls. I'll try a different one next time.

Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I made this recipe exactly as listed for my Memorial Day bbq today. I made it last night and let it chill, and the family LOVED it. It was a little bland for my taste, but everyone else raved! Guess I'm just strange. LOL Well done, Mitch, for pleasing a finicky family!

Butterscotch Blondies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
Warning: You will gain 5 pounds LOOKING at these! OMG are they good! If you're sensitive to the very rich and sweet, I would advise warming them up and putting vanilla ice cream on them. I used white chocolate instead of butterscotch and they turned out perfectly. Definately use the parchment paper. Save yourself the scrubbing! They'll lift right out!

Pop Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
My family has had this cake for YEARS at every holiday or other get-together in the summer! You can use any variation you want! I cut some of the milk to make the topping a bit thicker, and I use yellow cake, with cherry jello and Faygo Redpop. SO many variation possibilities with this recipe! I love it!

Ham and Beans

I used a little more cayenne, and some Italian Seasoning. Put everything together in the crock pot this morning, and tonight it's great! Thanks very much, Stephanie, for a great idea on a winter night! :)

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
OH Good Lord are these good! I've made a double batch for Christmas, and added some food coloring for fun, they look SO nice! I kept them small, which helped keep them together. They are very soft and SOOOO good. I used a "vanilla" cake mix. Fabulous. Thanks, Kim!

No Bake Macadamia Nut Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
I probably would have given these 5 stars if I had used macadamia nut butter and carob. But given the price of these items, and the difficulty in finding them, I used Cashew Butter and cocoa instead. They still turned out great! VERY easy, and firmed up nicely. Thanks, Christine!

Ham and Bean Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
Not bad at all, and it was easy and cheap! I should have used the "top with grated cheese" advice, but didn't have it on hand. Will probably make again, it was nice to come home to something hot and hearty after a long night at work. Thanks, Teresa!
