Grandpa's Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
great recipe! I wanted a sweeter popcorn ball so I left off the vinegar. I had a problem with my brand new candy thermometer... even with a gas stove I couldnt get it to read past 250!! so I quickly googled hard crack stage and found if you drop a bit of the mixture in cold water... wait for it to cool.. and if it's hard and cracks ... it's at the hard crack stage. Why did I go buy a candy thermometer for this?... it was at hard crack stage the first time I checked it.

Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting

very good.. I used Crown Royal and the taste was not overpowering at all. I had no bourbon. My frosting turned out perfect.

Smoky Black Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
I make this recipe regularly but I rarely have the forethought to pre-soak beans.. so I just use canned black beans. It's very good!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
Mine turned out okay. Made as recipe stated. Soft. It's hard to brown them.. but when I did (slightly browned) they were definitely overcooked. I like a more flavorful cookie.

Beer Batter for Fish

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
very good. The color of the batter and the thickness had me a bit concerned but it turned out fabulous. I did add a bit more four to thicken it.. and a teaspoon of baking powder. .. because I was so worried about it but I don't think it really changed it much.

Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
pretty good. I am used to canned corned beef hash and it didn't taste like that much. I used left over corned beef from St. Patty's Day and four potatoes. It was good.. but my husband who loves the canned stuff.. and doesn't like "fresh" corned beef from St. Patty's Day.. didn't really care for this too much either.

tasted kind of healthy for a cookie... and I love all the ingredients but I didn't love this "cookie". crumbly and gooey and lacking.

Torsk

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
Tasted like lobster. Cooked as directions stated. Used Alaskan cod filets, but I didn't use all the butter... it didn't need to be dipped in it. It was very deliscious.

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I loved these. My husband who is not crazy about peppers .. did not. I blanched the peppers and they were still crisp after baking for 45 m. on 375. I used fresh onion and garlic and a 26 oz can of traditional spaghetti sauce.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
I also substituted brown sugar for the corn syrup. This recipe is deliscious! I use the cheapest bone in ham I can find and slice it kind of thick.
