About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook soups, pastas and desserts.
My cooking triumphs
Candy. That in itself is a great triumph. I love making delicious caramels, toffee, truffles and other candies, and they can definitely be tricky. Not everyone feels like they can do it, but determination can make great things possible...and tasty.
My cooking tragedies
Candy. It can be the best or the worst experience. I've definitely had my failures and had to tweak temperatures and ingredients until it turns out right.

Easy Sugar Cookies
This recipe is easy, just as it says. I would have given it 5 stars if it had more flavor. For some reason, it just didn't have the delicate richness I had hoped for in a sugar cookie. I rolled the balls in sugar before baking. Then I added some cinnamon and nutmeg to the sugar I rolled them in for more flavor. That definitely helped! But then, I realized it was pretty much just a snickerdoodle.

Italian Dressing Mix
This is the perfect blend of herbs! I did cut out the salt, and I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. It turned out great that way. Also, I questioned the amount of oregano, but it is definitely the right amount. I used red wine vinegar and canola oil to mix it up. Great recipe!!! I can't wait to try the dry mix on chicken and in other recipes.
