Terry's Texas Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
This was amazing. I soaked the beans (4 cups dry) 2lbs overnight rinsed them and then soaked them for another 5 hours. Rinsed again and made recipe as stated (doubled of course) except I didnt have a jalapeno pepper, so I just doubled the green salsa. This was amazing will definately make again!

Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
these were soooo very good. My son's Spanish Teacher loved them. I made some changes on the 2nd batch just for my own taste...1 1/2 tsp cinnamon. when doubling the recipe add 1/3 cup more flour and 1/2 tsp more vanilla. I also added 2 Tblsp granulated sugar to the confectioners sugar before rolling cookies in it.

New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
This is great recipe...made a few changes: used heavy whipping creme instead of milk. add more butter (margarine) to the crust mix and used half vanillia wafers and half graham crackers. I also added 2 tsps of lemon juice to the cheese cake mixture. Have at times also substituted equal amounts of Splenda for the sugar...and it tastes just wonderful for the diabetic cheese cake lovers...

Monkey Bread V

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
so good but you have to eat right out of the oven or they get hard. I sprinkle a bit of butterscotch pudding mix on the bottom of the bundt pan before I add the dough and made with real butter helps the brown sugar to carmelize...family loves it

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
These rolls are amazing...although it always takes me more than 90 minutes to make them. I also found that using real butter through out the recipe is much better than margarine. Also I make a frosting with 1/2cup butter softened 3 oz cream cheese, 1/2 tsp vanillia, pinch of salt and 1 /12 cups powered sugar. Mix that all together and spread over hot out of the oven rolls...man o man they are amazing.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This recipe is amazing and kids love it. I made it for high school kids and they have requested it repeatedly and it is soooo easy to make not to mention very inexpensive. I sprinkle the cinnamon on top the peaches and on top the cake mix. I also add about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar which I sprinkle on the peaches too before adding the cake mix.

This was absolutely delicious...only change was to add some of the topping to the bottom of the baking dish and to use 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white for the topping. Oh yeah I also added 1/3 cup of applesause to the batter.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Very good recipe, even if I did make a few changes. I used 2 cans of garlic, basil diced tomatoes that I put in the blender with the heavy creme because my kids (teenage boys)do not like tomatoes in their food. I also added 1 pound of ground hamburger (they like more meat) and added 1/2 teaspoon more of the red pepper flakes and 1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning. I omitted the olive oil as I just browned the hamburger and hot italian sausage (breakfast sausage Jimmy Dean) together, and added 1 teaspoon of italian seasoning. Still would not have been able to make it with out the inspiration of this recipe.

This is an incredible cake recipe. Made it exactly and it was very very good...never any leftovers here as the boys football teammates come over when I make this. House full of teenagers and chocolate cake that is this good does not last.

Aracely's Flan

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Very good even if it took longer to make than suggested. I did steam it over a pot of boiling water and covered it with tin foil tightly. took it to a church cinco de mayo potluck and it disappeared quickly. LOL would suggest making angel food cake when you make this to use the egg whites. I hate to waste.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Awesome, amazing...WOW excellent recipe. Made it exactly and that is a feat in itself I always seem to change things up. This is the perfect frosting to complement a cake and not take away from it. Light and fluffy and tastes just awesome. Might have to make it with a bit of creme of tartar to frost a carrot cake bet it would be awesome. I used it to frost the Strawberry Cake from Scratch recipe from this site also. Was amazing.
