I was unsure about the brown sugar on chicken and the paprika, but this was so good. It's sweet, but not too sweet. I also really liked the fresh mint. My husband and I loved it - we'll have it again. Unfortunately, the kids weren't too wild about it, but that's nothing new! Thanks for the yummy dinner.

Chilled Peach Soup

Super yummy. The Schnapps adds just the right peachy sweetness and the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and mint) made it taste like a peach cobbler soup. Thanks!

Fish Tacos

Used lg. mouth bass and it was delicious. I don't even like seafood, but I liked this. Great blending of flavors. Was a littly wary of the capers, but went ahead anyway. Glad I did. My hubby is an avid fisherman, so I think I'll be using this recipe quite a bit. Thanks!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Made this for dinner tonight. Great! Didn't have fresh basil, so I used dried. Still really good. I'm sure it would be amazing with fresh. Also, didn't have parmesan, so I used Asiago. Will definately make again. The whole family loved it, including a 5 year old and 3 year old twins. Thanks!

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Really savory and delicious. Had it with some Middle Eastern Flatbread from Trader Joe's. Whole family loved it and we're not even vegetarian!

Venison Stew I

I married into a family of hunters. This recipe is the first one where I actually enjoyed the venison, not just tolerated it. I thought the 1 tablespoon salt would be way too much, but I went with it. It wasn't too much - just perfect. The only change I made was to replace one of the cups of water with red wine. I am making it for the second time tonight. Thanks for the great recipe.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

I tried this for my preschool kids and called it "Curious George" sandwiches (cause that's what he'd eat). I really thought it was great - the grilling brought out a toastiness in the bananas. The bananas were a bit runny and messy though. My kids didn't like it as much as me. Only 1 out of three finished theirs.

Romaine Cobb Chicken Salad

We substituted gorgonzola for the blue cheese since we really dislike blue. Next time, I would only use 3 oz cheese - it kind of overpowered. The grilled chicken was great on the salad. I also added crumbled bacon and sliced cucumbers. Unfortunately I forgot the avacado! I even bought one just for the salad. Oh well, next time!

Lentil Rice and Veggie Bake

Really good. I've made it a few times. Once we didn't have red lentils, so I used brown. Still good, but the consistency isn't as smooth. Since we're not vegan, I used chicken broth for the rice and lentils instead of water. Also added crumbled, browned sausage to the casserole. Good with brown rice, too! Very tasty combination!
