Homemade Pancake Syrup

I like this better than store bought. I used honey instead of corn syrup and it was great!!

Perfect Berry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I made the shortcake portion of this recipe and it is by far the best shortcake I have ever had. I didn't read the directions very well and added the egg white to the egg and milk mixture. They still turned out great!!

Strawberry Limeade

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
I rated this recipe on the changes I made to it. I think limeade's are subjective to each person's tastes. I used one cup of water, two cups of ice, 2 T. honey and an additional 2 T. of lime juice. I like mine pretty tart. Would also be great as an "adult" drink with your favorite liquor in it.

Crunchy Praline Topped Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I make this recipe with fresh sweet potatoes, but this is definately a quicker way to prepare it. It is so wonderful and is like eating dessert with dinner. Great anytime of the year!!

Easy Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I didn't care for this recipe at all. I don't know what it was, maybe all the curry that overpowered everything but it just wasn't appealing. I served to guests and none of us liked it. Luckily I had made a back up of another kind of chicken skewers so we didn't fill up on bread and sides for lunch.

Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
I did not like these at all. I read reviews before I made them and decided to add about 1/4 cup more sugar since they weren't sweet enough. I also added a few chocolate chips and drizzled peanut butter on top. Still....not good.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This tasted good but it was too runny to pipe anything with. I had to use it to just frost the cake, even though it wouldn't smooth very well, then had to use another frosting to decorate on top of that. I wouldn't use it again. I even read through all the reviews and thought I would be able to overcome the "runniness" issue, guess not.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
This is such a wonderful cake. It is so moist. I did two layers of coffee and one cake layer plain. I also added a bit more coffee here and there and I think next time I'll even add more since it could use just a bit stronger flavor. This will be one of my favorites from now on.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
So without any fresh ginger (I used ground) peanuts, or udon noodles on hand it still turned out perfect. I used linguine noodles since a lot of other recipes I saw used them. The only issue with this is you have to eat them right after you make them since they soak up all the moisture and get sticky after a bit. But the taste is great!!! My husband actually asked me to make them again, I think I'll add chicken next time.

Japanese Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This is wonderful. I don't know why some people said it didn't taste like much because it has a ton of flavor. Along with the fresh chives I also added some French's fried onions (like what you use on green bean casserole) and it made it even better!! Not much effort for great results.

Deluxe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
These are wonderful. It took me a while to find this recipe after tasting these at a party that was catered. I would eat the whole pan if I hadn't given them away. But everyone was so grateful for me doing so and they loved!!! them and said the couldn't stop thinking about them. Note: I did use marshmallow fluff since it's easier to spread and it turned out great and is still ooey gooey in the middle. ***Have now tried a brownie mix for the base and it's just as good and a little quicker to make.***

Poke Cake I

Probably would have been great but I forgot to add the water, don't ask me how I managed that! So it actually turned out more like a sponge cake and everyone still liked it. I will make again and follow the recipe to a T. :)

Almond-Topped Fish

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
I'm only giving this two stars because my husband said it was "ok". But I didn't like it at all. I guess for my taste buds mayo and fish just don't go together. Plus, it was such an odd texture to have on top of the fish, it was kind of like creamy cottage cheese. I will not make this again.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
These are wonderful. I think my husband would eat them every night if he could. I wrapped my shrimp with a piece of slightly cooked bacon and skewered them and then grilled them while basting with bbq sauce. They turned out great. I think my husband loves me a tad more just because of these!! :)

These are wonderful!! I added 1 tsp almond extract, 1 tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg to the sour cream mix. Then I brushed with milk, and topped with cinnamon, sugar, and slivered almonds before baking. Yum!!
