Pesto Pepper Tortellini

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This was a good recipe for a base but I made lots of changes. First of all I sauteed the garlic and peppers in olive oil. I used half and half and after reading other reviews I thickened with corn starch. I also used store bought pesto that I had on hand. I grilled chicken and sliced into strips. I also added cherry tomatoes sliced in half. I added salt, pepper, a little Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. I steamed some frozen veggies for side dish and served with garlic bread. It was wonderful. My husband loved it.

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
I loved this recipe but added other ingredients such as: the juice of one orange, whole green onions, sliced white onions, and instead of white vinegar, I used the vinegar from a jar of yellow pickled peppers, I also added about 1/2 cup of the peppers. I also tossed the rinds from the limes and oranges into the mixture. Separated the meat and marinade into freezer bags and froze it. When I was ready to cook it I simply defrost and it's ready to go.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
I made this soup today and could not understand why it had such high ratings. I doubled the recipe so I could freeze it. I had cooked a ham earlier in the day along with veggies and used the ham bone and vegetable water alone with chicken bouillon for stock and still found it to be pretty bland. I ended up searching for other potato soup recipes so that I could doctor this up. I ended up adding some celery seed, dried parsley, roasted garlic, thyme, and just a smidgeon of rosemary. I also added 1 1/2 of cheddar/jack cheese mix and the left over mixed veggies and only then was I finally satisfied.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
This is the same recipe used for "Toll House" cookies and pan cookie found on the back of Nestle chocolate chip packages. I made this using my cheap electric pizza maker and followed advise from others. I rolled out the dough on sheets of wax paper (I ran out of parchment) after freezing for a few minutes, making it about 3/4 inch smaller than my pan. I placed the cookie in freezer after rolling for another few minutes in order to remove easily. I also made a whole in the middle because I was afraid it wouldn't bake evenly in the center. Cookie came out perfect.

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Loved this recipe, I did make some changes. I had about 5-6 pounds of meat. I added yellow pickled peppers and used the vinegar from the peppers. I also sliced onions, added cilantro, and used the juice of an orange. I left the orange, lemon, and lime rinds in the meat and froze it.

Cola Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
I roast my turky using cola, but I add a lot of other things such as a variety of herbs. I rub it in Miracle Whip, small amount of mustard, and pour melted butter on it. About halfway through the roasting process I add mix 1 cup cola and 1 cup brand and pour over the turkey. It is always a hit.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
Wow. Made this tonight and I thought I ruined it when the paprika bottle opened up and spilled in the sauce. I scooped out as much as possible and hoped for the best. It was wonderful. Hubby loved in and poured some of the sauce on his veggies which was great.
