REAL RUSSIAN BORSCH!

This is a fantastic Borsch recipe I had at a friends house while visiting Russia years ago. It's the best I've had!
1 medium head Purple Cabbage, shredded
2 cups chopped onion
6-8 cans chicken broth
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
3 cups washed, unpeeled, diced red potatos (3-4)
2 1/2 cups diced fresh beets (about 2 beets off a stalk)
2 cans diced tomatos, drained
8 ounces sour cream
Saute cabbage and onion until tender. Combine chicken broth and cream of tarter...stir well.Add potatos and beats and bring to boil uncovered until tender. Top the soup in bowls with dill weed and dollop of sour cream. Serve with black bread and butter (or
