Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
Of all the cookie recipes I've tried (and I've tried about 20), these BY FAR is my favorite! My husband's coworkers have tried all of them too, and they vote this one as the best. I like to use half white chocolate chips and half milk chocolate chips. I also bake them for 11-12 minutes, or else they come out undercooked in the center. It helps to smush the dough balls down after dropping them on the baking sheet, too. Thanks for a super yummy recipe!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
These brownies are awesome! The frosting comes out pretty thick and hard to spread, so I add a generous amount of chocolate wine sauce (we live close to Napa) to the frosting; that really softens it up and makes it easier to spread on the brownies without destroying them. Thanks for an easy and yummy recipe!

Jan Hagel Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
My coworkers and my husband LOVE these cookies! I'm not a huge walnut fan, but the flavor they add is really nice. I only use one cookie sheet (not enough dough for 1 1/2), and even then the cookies come out on the thin side. Still, the texture is great. I like to chop up the walnuts as finely as possible; it makes them easier to spread over the dough. Thanks for an easy and yummy recipe that's not the run-of-the-mill cookies!

Rosemary Sherry Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
Really loved this recipe! I think the chicken broth is really what gives it the most flavor. I used 3/4 inch thick chops and they came out on the dry side, so next time I make them I'll simmer them for five minutes on a side instead of ten and five. I also used garlic salt and onion salt instead of the powders because that's what I had on hand, so I just didn't add salt by itself. Turned out great!

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
This recipe was awesome, and fortunately it worked out really well for me with a few slight modifications. I used 3 full cups of flour instead of 2 and 3/4, and I used butter instead of margarine. I baked the cookies for 11-12 minutes instead of 8-10, and I added 3/4 of a bag of M&M baking bits. They turned out crispy around the edges and chewy in the center. No problems with runny batter or cookies running into each other on the sheet. My dough scoops were about half a large spoonful, and I got 70 cookies out of it.

Spiced Pecan Shortbread

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
I loved this recipe! It was SO quick to mix everything, and I liked that I didn't have to get out the hand mixer. I cut the shortbread into squares shortly after taking it out of the oven, and put the pan in the fridge to speed up the cooling process...took about an hour, and worked great. I also didn't have any pumpkin spice, and a dash of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon worked great (I didn't have allspice).

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
This recipe is fabulous, and one of my husband's favorites! I like to make them bite size...they make more cookies, and people feel better about taking one at work because they're smaller :o).

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
I first made these snickerdoodle's with my best friend, who's been using the recipe for a while. I'm so glad she shared it with me because it's really fabulous! My husband, friends, and coworkers all rave about these cookies! They end up crispy around the edges and softer in the middle, which is exactly how I like them.
