About this Cook
Live in La Crosse WI. LOVE to "play" in the kitchen. Recipes, are...just a guide line.Make it your own. If you're not having FUN in the kitchen, you're doing it wrong.
My favorite things to cook
Making anything up. Inventing...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Doing things my sons took to THEIR kitchens, and families...lasting memories...
My cooking triumphs
Getting a friend who "hated" spinich and olives, to eat, and love them. Same with anchovies, and MANY friends...lol..some still don't know.
My cooking tragedies
Baking...to much science, not enough 'free hand'...ok, no instructor to tutor me either...

Irish Potato Casserole
It cracks me up that some will say 4-5 stars and others say 1. CHANGE IT for YOUR family...i added garlic (as some did) I added different cheese (morrell leek jack most recently) cuz that's what i had. even diced pastrami, or ham. make it yours and it's 5 STARS...cuz YOU made it that way. be CREATIVE...HELLO....

Smothered Mexican Lasagna
This was good. I used a beef/turkey blend. I also added a bag of southwest corn, and since I live in Wisconsin, some shredded Mexican cheese to top it all off. I'll make this again.

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip
i tweaked it, because i can't help it. with a bit more swiss, a squirt of dijon mustard, and another of horseradish sauce, it was wonderful. just keep stiring it, and enjoy. i've done a cold version with cream cheese that turned out pretty good too...refrigerators are a great place to play. have fun with this one, it'll become a favorite in no time
