Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
Ooohhhh sooooo good! Only changes were too add extra strawberries and reduce the cinnamon (rather taste the fresh fruit than the spice) to less than 1 tsp. looking forward to getting another bucket of strawberries and baking more!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Absolutely wonderful! Made the basic scones (no extra additions this time but will definitely in the future) and served with homemade strawberry jam & raspberry jam. Num num num!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
Since I have never had pulled pork before, I have nothing to compare this to. One thing I do know, this was tasty! tasty! tasty! I only had 1 x 1-pound tenderloin so I used 1 cup root beer to which I mixed in about 1/4 cup of bbq sauce before pouring over the meat in the slowcooker. I also added a little extra bbq sauce to the top of the tenderloin while cooking. Even tho I reduced the amount of ingredients, I did not reduce the cooking time. I served it with homemade mac and cheese--hubby& I absolutely LOVED it! A definite make again recipe!!

Honey-Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
Love that the recipe is easy to put together - had all of the ingredients and it doesn't take too much time. However, I did find it a little too sweet. I did make 1-1/2 times the sauce and added the red pepper flakes.

Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
Great recipe! I did end up baking this dish at a lower temperature for longer (baked at the same time as the Marinated Baked Pork Chops) but still came out tasty. A little too salty, but that can be reduced. Will definitely be making again!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
Absolutely fantastic flavor and so easy to make! Only 1 change: since I don't do Worcestershire sauce, I added a few drops of hot sauce instead. Served it with "Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes" and green beans. Nummy!!

Parsleyed Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
I really liked the fact that this recipe was so easy and quick. I'm not much of an onion fan so I did find it a little over the top with the onion. Think I would reduce the amount of onion next time and use a can a chicken broth as others recommended for extra flavor.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
Just made these for Christmas and they were a huge hit! Froze a few for later--worked like a charm. Simple to put together. Guess mine were a little bigger than they should've been as I only got 36 treats (darn!) Will make again...might not wait til Christmas this time.

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
For this recipe, I only had 3 boneless chops (not thick, not thin). The sauce made the chops moist and tasty; the sauce itself, didn't do much for us. The chops were in the oven for about 45 minutes and came out nice and tender.

Amazing Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
Wowzer! Rich and chocolately. Was a little worried at first, especially after 2-1/2 hours and it didn't seem to be doing anything, but it worked! Used the 5qt slow cooker and had it go for closer to 3-1/2 hrs before turning off and letting it rest/cool somewhat. All I can say, is 'addictive'.

Mom's Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
I halved the recipe and used the meatballs in place of store-bought ones for a slow cooker recipe. The meatballs were tasty after baking them and they were absolutely fantastic after simmering in the slow cooker for a few hours. Looking forward to using this meatball recipe for other meals....actually quick and easy to mix together, roll, and bake. I did leave out the Worcestershire sauce (not a fan of the flavor) and used BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. Also added some freshly ground pepper. My new go-to meatball recipe--LOVE IT!!

Pistachio Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
As other reviewers mentioned, I also used a white cake mix instead of the yellow. Also reduced the baking time (took about 50 min). I did not glaze the cake, but instead just dusted a little icing sugar over the top when it was cool. Very moist and very tasty. Loved the color. Easy and quick to make. Will definitely bake another one. Great recipe-thanks!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
A great salad! I did use a finely chopped red onion, substituted apple cider vinegar for the white vinegar, reduced the amount of sugar in half, plus added carrot and dried dill weed. Think I might reduce the amount of pasta next time to make it just a little creamier, but otherwise everybody loved it.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Good stuff! I sprinkled the chicken with a little extra pepper before starting. I also decreased the amount of butter in the bottom of the baking dish by half, and also did not drizzle the extra butter over top.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Pretty darn good brownies. I didn't add the walnuts; wished I had added mini-chocolate chips though. Was expecting them to be a little higher/thicker. Will definitely be making again (with butter instead of oil) and adding those mini chips!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This is one of the best creamy soups I've tried! The only thing I changed was that I didn't add any salt as the ham piece I chopped up seemed salty already. Next time, I'm gonna add finely chopped carrots and use farmers sausage instead of the ham. A definite make again! Thanks.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie Logs

Very easy to make and tasty too. For half of the cookies, I just dipped one end into the chocolate; for the other half of the cookies, I just left plain. Tasty, either way.

Confetti Spaghetti

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This is a great dish to serve to a crowd. I added a clove or 2 of garlic instead of the garlic powder. Also, I increased the sauce to a 15 oz can to make it a little less dry. Awesome recipe!
