About this Cook
I'm a northern girl from Canada, married to a northern boy from Minnesota. We have 2 amazing boys, ages 1 and 3, and they keep us very busy.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and make appetizers more than cooking main meals, but I'm getting better. I have some of my grandmother's cookbooks which are full of tried and true recipes, although I'd have to exercise alot if I cooked that way all the time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lots of baking at Christmas time. Homemade stuffing at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Appetizers on Christmas Eve.
My cooking triumphs
My chocolate chip cookies are pretty good!
My cooking tragedies
I wouldn't quite say "tragedies" but a few mishaps! I can't quite seem to properly cook a roast beef!

Jimmy Dean Breakfast Casserole
A big hit at our beach breakfast! I did have to cook it for an additional 30 minutes for the eggs to set in the middle. I used mushrooms, red pepper and green pepper for the 'optional' veggies and sauteed some chopped onion with the sausage. Will definitely make again!

Angel Chicken Pasta
Great recipe, very rich and tasty, while easy to make. I put everything in the crockpot for 4 hrs on high. After reading other reviews, I also doubled the sauce, except for the Italian salad dressing mix. The golden mushroom soup and wine is a delicious combination.

World's Best Lasagna
This lasagna is excellent! 4 star rating though due to a few small changes. I added less salt and sugar, increased the garlic and mozzarella cheese. It's the first time I made lasagna that didn't fall apart. Great idea to soak noodles in hot water for 30 min, rather than boil. Out of curiosity, anyone heard of 6.5 oz cans of tomato sauce? Delicious! Great recipe, John.
