Cranberry Waldorf Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
This was too sweet for my own tastes, and would probably be better with fresh, whole cranberries for extra tartness. Doesn't keep long in the fridge either, or at least mine didn't. Don't think I will be making this again.

Vegetarian Lime Orzo

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
A little tangy, but otherwise not so bad! Left out the canned tomatoes as I reckoned they may go soggy in with the pasta. However, even the non-vegetarians enjoyed it. Will be making this one again!

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
The best coconut shrimp I think I've ever had! And, for once, the batter didn't come off after they finished cooking. We use marmalade, cocktail sauce, or remoulade sauce as our usual dipping sauces. Thanks for such a great recipe Linda!

Cilantro French Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
The cilantro didn't really make much of a difference, they were still very bland. Don't think I'll be making these again.

Tortilla Soup II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
Followed the recipe as it is, and it turned out great! Not for the faint of heart, as it is very spicy...luckily we like a little extra kick. Next time I might try adding some corn or avocado.

Mango Craze Juice Blend

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
This just wasn't very good. Too sour, for starters, and the orange segments were soggy and left pulpy pieces in my smoothie...ended up dumping the lot of it out.

Japanese-Style Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Substituted plain green beans for Japanese edamame soy beans. However, mine turned out a little salty, so I think I will cut back on the soy sauce for next time.

Nepalese Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
This just wasn't for me. I'm not a fan of eggs or curry paste, but luckily my boyfriend is! He enjoyed them, I didn't as much, hence the mixed review. Followed recipe perfectly, only used normal flour instead of ghee.

Beef Pho

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Takes a while to make, but the wait is definitely well worth it. This tastes just like the pho at the Vietnamese place on our street, but much better! I also grated extra white radish for the top of the soup -some went in and i cooked with the noodles, the ones on the top were raw-. Definitely making this one again.

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
A little bit time consuming, but this was definitely delicious. I increased the amount of cider vinegar and took out the pineapple chunks as personal preference, but otherwise followed this to a 'T', and it wasn't bad at all! We served it with Oriental rice.

Borboletas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Definitely better as a cold pasta salad than it is warm.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Easy, simple, and most definitely delicious. We add more lemon juice and cut the butter back a little, otherwise following the recipe to a 'T', and it has turned out delicious each time. Thanks for sharing!

Asian Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
This wasn't a favourite of ours. The flavour was way too sweet, and the rice ended up going mushy on me -too much coconut milk?-. I won't be trying this one again, thanks anyways though.

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
Just like they make at the roadhouse restaurants! However, I did tweak this a bit...we made our own cheese sticks by melting the mozzarella and making the sticks after it cooled, otherwise followed the recipe perfectly. Delicious!! Best served with Marinara Sauce, also found on this site. ;)

Pickled Watermelon Rinds

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
A very unusual recipe...and to be quite honest, these weren't even tasty. Very bland despite the pickling. Don't think I will be making these again.

Johnny Marzetti III

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
One of the best Johnny Marzetti recipes I've tried yet! Easy, versatile, makes a lot so leftovers are a definite the next day. We use elbow macaroni, and added extra cheese as a personal preference. Kids and adults alike gobbled it up, the casserole was cleaned out quite quickly. Will definitely be making this again!

Manhattan Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
The delicious and easy way of making Manhattan clam chowder. This is very tasty! I usually end up using freshly shucked clams, and adding in a half bottle of clam juice. The end result has turned out great every time. Thanks for sharing, Corwynn!

Tofu Jerky I

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
A very unusual recipe; my first time trying tofu and I can bravely say I will not attempt to do so again. By the time these were done, the texture was in between dry and jiggly, and therefore very unpleasant. I don't know where I went wrong, but we threw out the lot.

Spinach Stuffing

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
As easy it was to make, this just wasn't very good. Perhaps it was the canned spinach, but it didn't really stick together and the taste was way off. I don't think I will be making this again.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
This is a delicious wing dip! I was very hesitant on trying to capture the flavour of chicken wings in a dip at first, but I made this for game night and the guys devoured it. Followed the recipe to a T, except for substituting the ranch for blue cheese salad dressing, which I think made it even better. A sure winner.
