I did not care for this recipe. I made this with high hopes but the dish had zero flavor.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
This is a very versatile recipe. I like to add some cinnamon, allspice and some cloves to the mix and bake it at 350 for 65 minutes. It turns out AMAZING!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
The only alteration I made to these cookies was using salted butter, and I have to say, they are by far the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. Crunchy around the edges and chewy in the middle, not too flat and not too fluffy. They even earned two thumbs up from my husband!!!!!

Tina's Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I only gave this cookie four stars because I had to do a few modifications to make it good. I turned the oven up to 325 degrees, added some vanilla extract, and added some brown sugar. I also dropped these cookies on the cookie sheet a lot smaller than recommended. See my pic! I noticed the heart shaped cookie after I was taking these from the oven to cool!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
WARNING: If you want flat cookies these are not it! On to the review! Well, I give these five stars, because they taste GREAT! My hubby only likes crispy cookies so he really doesn't like them, but I think they are perfect! I shrunk the recipe down to half it's normal size, only because I cannot allow that many cookies in my house, because I will eat them all! LOL I used margarine instead of butter, only beacuse I use it for all of my recipes, and no nuts. It tastes really good but they really puffed up in the oven, which I didn't like. They shrunk a little after I took them out but not enought for my hubby. Next time I make these I will reduce the flour by one cup and see what happens. Oh and I cooked them for twelve minutes and they came out perfectly brown all over. I would cook them this long if I were you to make sure they are done!

Tangy Egg Salad Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I can only give this recipe four stars because it is a very good base recipe, but not the best. I didn't use hot sauce or celery because I ran out of hot sauce and I don't like celery in my egg salad. Plus I didn't measure out my ingrediants, so I can't say if they were proportioned correctly or not. But overall I really enjoyed it, the mustard gave it a kick (I used spicy brown)and the basil and parsley enhanced that flavor. I really liked it but will stick to my normal recipe in the future.

I did not care for this recipe. I followed the directions exactly and ended up with a blob of uncooked dough.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
Was I the only one to see the mistake in this recipe? For the first half of dough it states at the top, 1/4 cup of white suagr, but yet in the instructions, that changes to 1/2 cup. this threw me a little, but I just used 1/2 cup of white suagr and pretended that the 1/4 cup was just a typo. I only made the first recipe as I liked the proportions and I didn't wan't to do the whole half and half thing. I have to say, this is the most perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever made. I have been searching this site for the "perfect" chocolate chip cookie recipe for a long time now, and I FINALLY found it! I used rounded spoonfulls and baked them for ten minutes at 350, they were golden brown and PERFECT!!! It is almost impossible for me to find a recipe my husband and I both agree on. Thank you thank you thank you for this recipe!!!!!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
I just now finished making these cookies and as a first time oatmeal cookie maker, I found these cookies to be very quick and delicious. The only modification I had to make was to double the cinnammon as another reviewer said. They turned out a little flat but very very good! I hope my husband likes them but he is picky sometimes so if he doesn't like them then there's more for me!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
I would have given these a 5 if it wasn't for the kinda bland taste they have. I listened to the other people and used 1 and 1/2 cup brown sugar and only 1 cup white sugar, and although they looked great, they tasted so so.

Dump Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I just finished eating some of these brownies along with a big glass of milk and I have to say they almost taste like the store bought mixes. I didn't have any chocolate chips though so if they had them I would of probably given this recipe five stars. I used a frosting recipe (from this site) to replace the chocolate chips, and overall it was pretty good. I don't think I will make these again unless I have chocolate chips though because it definitly need them.

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
The reason for me using this recipe was mainly because I did not have any eggs or milk. I loved how fast this recipe is to make! I didn't have vegetable oil, only extra light olive oil, but it seemed to do just fine. I did however add about 3/4 of a cup more water to the batter because it was way to thick, I could barely whisk it by hand or using my electrtic mixer. Once I added the extra water it seemed to even it out. It only needed exactly thirty minutes in the oven and it looks pretty good. I haven't tasted it yet but I am hoping it tastes just like the store bought mixes, or better! I did have some chocolate chips handy and sprinkled them on top before baking, plus after I pulled it out of the oven I spread melted chocolate over the top of it. I am letting it cool right now and I hope it tastes good!! This is my first time making brownies from scratch so I hope my husband and I like it! EDIT: I made this recipe again this time without adding more water, and it made some semi-thick brownies, I was very impressed. I spread some fudge topping on it and didn't add chocolate chips this time so we will see how it turns out!

Crackle Top Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
The only things I changed with these cookies was the cooking time, I reduced it by four minutes because I didn't want crispy cookies, and I didn't have vegetable oil, so I used olive oil. They came out great! (and possibly healthier?) This was my first time making these kind of cookies and I was very surprised at how easy it was to make them, I will definitely make these again soon!

My Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
My husband made this chili for us the other day, and it was awesome! We did change the amount of garlic though. We used one clove instead of four and we also added cayenne pepper. We did cook it longer too, and that made it very thick and tasty.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
I have to say, these cookies weren't really that good. They were chewy, yes, but the slight hint of peanut butter flavor was not impressive at all. They seemed lacking overall. I will not make these ever again.
