Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
I didn't think this recipe would turn out properly because, as with other reviews, my machine directs to NOT allow the yeast to touch the liquid...the exact opposite of this recipe. I was never really satisfied with the texture of the bread from my machine. It was always heavy and dense. I decided to give this unconventional recipe a try and I was so glad I did! It is AMAZING! The texture is perfect....better than any homemade bread I'd ever produced. I did increase the salt to 1.5 tsp and increased the sugar to 3 Tbls on the advice of other reviewers. Hands down, the best basic bread recipe ever! Thank you for submitting this recipe! I've learned my lesson: always give the unexpected a try!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
I absolutely LOVE this recipe. It's really simple.....I usually have all the ingredients on hand. But it must be something about the ratio of fat to grains that makes these rolls the most consistently reliable and delicious every single time! Like others, I toss all the ingredients, exactly as written, into my breadmaker and set it to "dough", take it out 1.5 hrs later, roll it into 24 rolls (don't be afraid to really work them in your hands....it makes them very tender) on a single 1/2 sheet baking pan and let rise for 1.5 hrs. I like to use my oven to rise the rolls by setting it on its lowest setting (170°) and turn it off when it reaches temperature. Then I put my rolls in to rise. When they've nearly tripled in size and are touching each other, I pull them out, turn the heat up to 400° as instructed, and bake for 10 mins. Absolutely perfect, every time. I will NOT buy rolls ever again! Cinnabon has lost my $$ too....this is perfect for cinnamon rolls as well. Experiment.....add garlic, rosemary, brush the top with egg, milk or butter. The sky is the limit with these little clouds of goodness. But do stick to the basic recipe, word for word, before tweaking however you like. It is the PERFECT base recipe! I !an never thank you enough

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
Loved this recipe! Was a big hit as an appetizer for our early Christmas celebration. I did substitute the mayo with sour cream, just a personal preference. Super fast to mix up and was gobbled up nearly as quickly! I served it cold with scoopable tortilla chips. I also seeded the jalapeños because kids were eating, but would leave some in for heat if serving to spice-loving adults. Will be making it again in 2 days and I'm sure many times more! Thanks for posting!!

This is the only pie crust recipe you will ever need! It is so simple, you can commit it to memory and prepare it anywhere like a professional! The trick is ALWAYS use chilled fat (butter or shortening), ice water and be fast! Consistently perfect!

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Loved the heat of this chili, but overall didn't think it was worthy of 5 stars. Definitely NOT the best chili I've ever tasted. Needed way more tomato taste, along with more beer and definitely some vinegar. I have used cocoa in several Mexican dishes (not hot chocolate mix) so that was not an unusual or unexpected addition for me. 3 stars: wasn't the best, yet I've have had far worse...this recipe was "okay".
