I didn't think this recipe would turn out properly because, as with other reviews, my machine directs to NOT allow the yeast to touch the liquid...the exact opposite of this recipe. I was never really satisfied with the texture of the bread from my machine. It was always heavy and dense. I decided to give this unconventional recipe a try and I was so glad I did! It is AMAZING! The texture is perfect....better than any homemade bread I'd ever produced. I did increase the salt to 1.5 tsp and increased the sugar to 3 Tbls on the advice of other reviewers. Hands down, the best basic bread recipe ever! Thank you for submitting this recipe! I've learned my lesson: always give the unexpected a try!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

This is the only pie crust recipe you will ever need! It is so simple, you can commit it to memory and prepare it anywhere like a professional! The trick is ALWAYS use chilled fat (butter or shortening), ice water and be fast! Consistently perfect!

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Loved the heat of this chili, but overall didn't think it was worthy of 5 stars. Definitely NOT the best chili I've ever tasted. Needed way more tomato taste, along with more beer and definitely some vinegar. I have used cocoa in several Mexican dishes (not hot chocolate mix) so that was not an unusual or unexpected addition for me. 3 stars: wasn't the best, yet I've have had far worse...this recipe was "okay".
