About this Cook
I love global cuisine and learning about people's food traditions. I'm pretty adventurous in my eating, although I like things to be healthy. My family has a standing agreement that they'll try anything I cook and not complain, but if it's REALLY bad, I'll spring for pizza.
My favorite things to cook
quiche, cookies, bread, chicken and sauces, rice bowls.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love the winter holidays because I grew up in a family full of great food traditions. We made sugar cookies and decorated them to TASTE good - chocolate chips, raisons, peanut butter, etc. We had fondue every Christmas eve - along with my dad's "Fon-dos and Fon-don'ts" lecture. And steamed carrot pudding for dessert with Christmas dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Grating 1/4 c of fresh ginger at Thanksgiving, when the host only had a teeny tiny zester.
My cooking tragedies
The one time we had to pull out the fire extinguisher - making home-made baked tortilla chips.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip
It's a good base idea, that can be changed for personal preferences. Our household likes strong flavors, and doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. We tweaked it for our tastes by adding 2 cans of pumpkin, only 1.5 8oz tubs of cool whip, and a regular sized package of pudding. We also doubled the spices. With the changes, for our household, it's a 5!

Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast
It was good, although a little bland. I felt like it was missing something. I might try to add a little celery, and maybe some more spices next time. And I didn't really thing the bread crumbs were necessary.

Seminary Muffins
Very good. I used WAY more bananas than it called for, which made them kind of mushy, but still very good. I used raisins rather than chocolate chips, and ran out of brown sugar, so I only used about 2T of brown sugar, and about 1/4 c honey. Also, I used wheat flour rather than regular.
