Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
I only give 2 stars because it was easy to make, and wasn't horrible tasting. Other then that, found it terribly greasy, very hard to make any figures, and despite trying to "matte" the fondant, the greasiness would only return. I won't be using again. Sorry.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
My first attempt at split pea soup and it turned out incredable! I followed some other reviewers and used a ham hock. I didn't measure out anything... I just kept adding as I saw fit...ended up using a 500g bag of split peas, 1/2 onion, 1 very large carrot, 2 celery stalks, 2 small potatoes, 2 garlic cloves, a little bit of dried thyme, a dash of garlic and roasted pepper seasoning, and salt a pepper to taste. OH, and I used a veggie stalk to thin the soup as it cooked. Thank you for a great recipe guide :)

All in all its a great recipe as is or slightly modified. I think that next time I"m going to add a bit of coconut and see how it turns out! Thanks for a great recipe!

Pumpkin Maple Pie Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Wow! I love this pie! I made it exactly as written...I did double it, and it successfully filled 2 10" deep dish pies. They did take longer to cook, obviously. Will make again for sure!

These cookies taste very good. All the flavours definately mesh well. Personally, they're a little sweet for my liking, but I'm sure that my boys will eat them up in no time. Thanks!

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
This was the first time I had ever used fondant before and I have to say that it was over a good experience. I thought that it would never get out of the "sticky" stage, but right when I thought I was just going to give up, that I must have done something wrong, everything started to pull together and I ended up with good results :)

One Skillet Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I really enjoyed this receipe. Instead of cubing the potatoes I used my food processor to shred them for less prep time and quick cooking time. Did the same with the onion. I added vinegar just to my personal taste. Once everything was all cooked up, tossed on some shredded marble cheese and we had a hit! Everyone was asking for seconds. (a warning about shredding your potatoes for anyone who's interested, the hash doesn't look so pretty when you're finished but it tastes great :))

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
Very good cookies. Next time I make them though, out of personal preference, I will cut down on the amount of sugar used as I find them pretty sweet. Maybe 3/4 cups instead. They do stand up to their description, crispy edges, chewy middles. Thanks!

Coconut Icebox Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I made these exactly as the recipe states, the only thing I changed was rather then putting the dough in the fridge to chill, I sped things up by using the freezer. They turned out lovely. Nice and light and very tasty. I will definately make them again.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!! I guess I'm kinda biased because ginger snaps are my favorite cookie :P These are very good! I did as some other reviewers suggested and doubled the spices, very glad that I did, they ended up with the perfect "kick". I didn't let them cool long enough on the baking sheet, so they were crispy, I do like chewy. Next time I won't be in such a hurry to get them onto the wire racks! Thank you for such a tasty treat!

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
This is a nice twist on shortbread. I'm pretty traditional myself when it comes to shortbread, but thought that I would give something new a shot. My bf really likes them. The pecans are a nice touch. Will make them again soon :)

Classic Gingerbread Cutouts

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
Really enjoyed this gingerbread....did not have any difficulty rolling it out, did not stick to the rolling pin or the table. Made very nice gingerbread men :) I added a little more cinnamon/ginger and did not have allspice so I used a 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg to round out the ginger/cinnamon/cloves. All in all a very nice gingerbread. I will probably use it next year for a whole gingerbread house. :)

Crisp Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
These cookies are great!! The only subs that I made were splenda for the white sugar, and egg substitute for the egg. Instead of the 1/2 cup of choc. chips I used 1/4 cup semi-sweet choc. chips and 1/4 cup butterscotch chips.....very yummy! Will definately make again.
