Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
My Mum and I found this recipe and decided to use it for my Sisters wedding cake. It was perfect! Everyone loved it. We made 3 tiers. The bottom tier was 2 batches (we made them seperately and cooked them together, I don't think it would work if you doubled it) It was huge and took 2 hours to cook. The 2nd tier was 1 batch. We made the top layer carrot. It was iced with white chocolate truffle icing and it was just amazing. I'm going to put a photo of it on this site.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
This is a great recipe! I have made it several times and have come up with these changes to suit our taste. We find it too sweet so I just use 1/4 cup of sugar. The last time I made it I accidently used only 1 cup of milk in the first stage instead of 1 1/2 cups....so had 1 cup to mix in with the egg. It turned out much better! Less gluggy and more creamy. I will do it that way from now on.

Dukkah

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This is a great recipe - everyone LOVED it. I had to make a few changes because I couldn't find cumin or coriander seeds - so I used coriander flakes and cumin powder. I also used 1/2 almonds, 1/2 hazelnuts. I don't know what the original recipe was meant to taste like but it was wonderful with my changes. Also, we like to dip the bread in balsamic vinegar and olive oil - its a great combination.

Black Forest Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
These are absolute perfection! If I had to choose my last meal on earth it would be these. I crushed the oreos, added melted butter and pressed into the muffin cups for the base. (Just cos I've had other cheesecakes which have the half cookie base and I think it tastes like a soggy cookie). I divided the cream cheese filling evenly between the 12 cups and they were pretty much filled to the top. I cooked them for 20 mins exactly and it was spot on. They were all puffed up and cracked when I took them out of the oven but once they cooled they sunk down and made the perfect well for filling with berries. I filled mine with raspberries, whipped cream and grated chocolate. YUM.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
Best and easiest cinnamon roll recipe I've ever tried...They always turn out perfect and everyone loves them. I've made them dozens of times and have been asked for the recipe by most everyone who tries them. I only make half the recipe as this is all that will fit in my breadmaker. They are so good!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
These are without a doubt the best chocolate chip cookies ever. I have made them dozens of times and they are always a hit. People always ask me for the recipe or ask me to make them. I live in New Zealand and we don't have Chrisco so I just use normal butter and they work just fine. Sometimes I put white chocolate chips or m&ms in too. Love this recipe.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Perfect, delicious loaves - though not a true baguette...crust and bread are soft and light - not crunchy and chewy as a baguette should be. Will definately make again however as it makes a nice loaf.

These were pretty good. We don't have shortening in New Zealand so I just used all butter. I also added chocolate chips. They turned out good and everyone liked them.

Pastry was great...will use it for all my pie crusts from now on. The tart itself had good flavor but wasn't 5* in my opinion...will keep looking for the perfect lemon tart recipe.

Naan

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
I let my bread maker do all the work so this Naan bread was easy to make. It makes A LOT (I got about 16 medium sized Naan) so I will probably half the recipe next time...Will definately make this every time we have Indian food.

Five stars for taste. Unfortunately mine burnt a little on the edges before it was done in the middle. I'll reduce the temperture a little next time.
