Rainbow Citrus Cake

This cake is awesome. A bit of work but well worth it. The 1st time I made it, it did take a a lot of time. After then I organized my work to help the process flow smoothly. Preheat oven, preparing the pans and set aside 3 bowls for each layer (preferably the same size). Next grate the fruit,set aside. Then shift dry ingredients and set aside. Now start the actual creaming and mixing. After the cake goes into the oven, start the filling. While the filling is cooling start the frosting.

Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

Yum. The first time I tasted butternut squash soup was at a 5 star hotel. I wanted to find a recipe was as good. This recipe does it. I made it vegetarian by using vegetable stock instead of chicken broth.

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapenos

OMG. These were soooo good. I don't even like jalapenos but I made them as appetizers for a gathering and now we make them as a just kicking around the house on a Saturday evening snack. Thanks Janice.

Ramen Coleslaw

Sausage Pinwheels

I loved this recipe. My children were not overly fond of it. It is a great breakfast to serve on the morning of a big trip. Prepare ahead of time and cook the night before. Serve with sliced fruit and juice. You can eat and hit the road. Or take it along to eat as you drive.

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

Excellent cake. I used a cream cheese frosting. Unlike some reviewer, I didn't find this cake heavy. It is not a lite and fluffy cake but definitely not heavy. Excellent taste.

Vegan Banana Muffins

Excellent recipe. I am the only vegan in my home. I made these and loved them. The other non vegan family members scarfed them down to and we're surprised to find out that they were vegan. I substituted soy milk because I didn't have coconut milk. Yum yum. Thanks MIEKO1

Ham 'N' Cheese Quiche

Excellent recipe. It was easy. I made an alteration of adding 1/2 cup cheddar and 1/2 cup swiss only because I didn't have enough cheddar. The men even ate this quiche. Thanks for sharing Christena.

Lemon Poke Cake II

I have made this cake dozens of times. I don't like lemon cakes but this one is exceptional. It is easy, tasty, and dangerously delicious. This is one of my go to cakes when I am taking a cake to an occasion. I know that it will be easy enough to prepare on a weeknight, reliable enough not to fail, and tasty enough to please. Grandma's Moist Cake

I like this cake because it is a fool proof cake; its easy, always moist and always fluffy. I find the taste a little lacking but everyone else loves it, even my finicky teenage daughter. It's is also very versitile I have used it with buttercream frosting, lemon frosting, and chocolate frosting. It is a must have in a baker's arsenal.

Basil Cream Chicken

Awesome recipe. I give it 10 stars. My picky family loved it. It will definitely be a family staple. I've made this dish two times. I cut the pimentos both times. The first time I substituted tofu for the chicken. The next time I used pre-cooked chicken brests. If you're hesitating on this recipe..Don't. It is explode in your mouth good.

Simple Turkey Chili

Excellent chili. Being from Texas, I have high expectations of chili. This one met the bill. I made some alterantations I used ground beef, increased all the spices by 1/4 to a teaspoon, and added cinnamon like one reviewer suggested and I also cut back on the water as noted in many of the reviews. This is a keeper.

The kids and young adults enjoyed it immensely. I thought it was good but a little dry. The next time I might serve it with guacamole and salsa to give it more depth. We will use it on a junk food night to replace pizza.
