About this Cook
I work for a children's hospital and have three beautiful children and a husband that has supported me going back to work after almost 8years as a stay at home mom.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake almost anything. I especially love Christmas baking time and especially like to make pumpkin rolls and apple pies. I also love making breakfast foods but could do without having to cook dinner. I always feel like I make the same things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Right after Thanksgiving I start baking Xmas cookies. The first ones I start with are waffle cookies and the kids love helping to make the icing and filling them. As soon as I get the waffle iron out they come running to help (probably to test them also!!)
My cooking triumphs
My first apple pie I made, I had the hardest time rolling out the dough and getting transferred into the pie plate. I think my first pie crust was an inch thick (it was gross) and patched together. After several years of practice, I can now make cutouts to make it look picture perfect.
My cooking tragedies
My husband loves chocolate gobs and I found a recipe for one and made them for him. They took so long to make (baking and filling) but I was determined. When my husband bit into the first one he made an automatic facebut quickly covered up by saying they were delicious. So I tried one. All you could taste was baking soda. They were disgusting. I had put 2 Tbsp of baking soda instead of 2 tsp.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies
My dear departed grandmother always made these cookies. We called them rolo cookies. The only difference is we used chopped pecans but you don't add it to the cookie mixture. You just dip the top into the sugar and nut mixture. I usually make half with nuts and half without. A lot of people don't like the nuts.

These were okay. Simple to make but I think I would've liked it better with a pie crust in each one. The biscuits made them way to heavy.

Detroit Hot Honey Wings
These are the best wings I've ever made. I didn't want to wait for my fryer to heat up and I never thought about grilling before. Although I did have to get over the name of those since i do live in the 'burgh. Let's go PENS!!!!!!!
