Danish Pastry Apple Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
I gave this recipe 4 stars only because I believe the proportions are off. I used 6 instead of 10 large granny smith apples. They are tart and they keep their shape when baked. Also, I had enough dough to make 2. I made them each about 10 inches round I placed them on cookie sheets instead of a rectangular 9X13. They turned out flaky and golden brown. Also, I whisked together a little milk and powdered sugar for a glaze to drizzle over the top. Will definately make this again. Yum! thanks!

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
I can only give this recipe 4 stars because the sauce was bland. I even added crushed red peppers and cayenne pepper. I will, however, adopt this cooking method (15 minute boil before the slowcooker) for spare ribs as they fell apart when I tried to grab them with tongs!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
Fantastic! Made a few minor adjustments. Filled a measuring cup 3/4 full of honey and topped it off with good spicy dijon mustard as I never buy the cheap yellow stuff. Also added 1 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp cayenne. Other than that, followed the recipe and cooking instructions and the chicken turned out juicy and sticky and buttery and flavoful and DELICIOUS. I will definately make this again! Thank You for the recipe!

Jambalaya

SALTY! If you make this, make sure you go easy on the salt. Especially if there is salt added in your cajun seasoning! Andouille sausage is also pretty salty. Do not salt your chicken while cooking it.

Easy Italian Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Delicious! I only had 6 chicken legs on hand. I followed the recipe except for one minor change. Instead of water I took a 1/4 cup and filled it half with chicken broth and half with honey. I simmered the legs in the minced garlic, broth, honey and crushed reds and it made a sticky, sweet and spicy glaze that I will use again for sure!

Twice Baked Potatoes II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
I love this recipe, its super easy to jazz it up with a few extra ingredients. I add a few slices of chopped crispy bacon and some fresh chives and fresh dill to the stuffing, also, I sprinkle bacon and chives on the top after baking. Delish!

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
For some reason my pork chops came out dry and tough. If I made these again I'd leave out the water (I basically made boiled pork chops). Also, I'd reduce the cooking time to about 40 minutes. The seasoning was good. I didn't have any dry mustard so I used cumin instead. I also only had a small 8oz. can of tomato sauce so I coated each chop with sriracha for some extra zing.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This was the perfect side dish for Mexican Pork Chops (a recipe I also found on this site). I did use more olive oil and 3 cloves of garlic instead of 2. I also added a few small diced tomatoes from my garden. They added sweetness and a splash of color. This recipe would also be good with meat in it for tortillas. I will definately make this again! Thanks for sharing!

Roasted Curried Chicken with Couscous

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
Absolutely delicious! For this recipe I used a package of bone0in chicken thighs and dredged them in the spice mixture for about 15 minutes before baking. Also, I used brown rice instead of couscous and next time I make the rice I am going to omit the lemon juice. The lemon flavor overpowered the side dish.
