Taco Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Flavor was good, but I just didn't dig the crust all that much.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Excellent lasagna...cut back on the salt just a bit and used ground turkey as the only meat (wife doesn't like italian sausage)....aside from that, followed it to a T and was well worth it. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This is my favorite fried rice ...and will now be my go to recipe. I boiled some frozen peas and diced carrots for 3-5 mins, drained and added toward the end of the rice cooking. This recipe is almost exactly like what they serve in hibachi houses. I threw the onion and added 2 cloves of garlic in while the egg was cooking....I shredded the egg and never bothered to remove it from the pan, I didn't think it was necessary. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
Doubled the sauce (butter, W sauce and season all salt instead of regular salt) I wound up using an 8x11 glass baking dish. Cooked at 275 for about an hour and a half....good stuff, this will become a tradition in our house now. Thanks for the recipe!

Cabbage Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
Wow, Now THAT is good stuff...so unexpected! I substituted ground turkey for beef and used chicken broth instead of water. I browned the turkey along with the celery and onions and such and drained them, then pretty much followed the rest of the recipe. At the end I used Creole seasoning to bring to my taste. Thanks for the recipe!!

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Reeeeally good! I sauteed a small onion, a tspn of italian seasoning and mushrooms in the butter before adding the chicken. Cooked those for 3 mins on each side, then removed them to the baking dish. I then added the chicken broth, a can of cream of mushroom soup and a heaping tablespoon of cornstarch ...it thickens the gravy up nicely! Poured over top and added the cheese...GOOD STUFF!

Quick and Easy Home Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
If you slice the potatoes instead of cubing them the cooking time is about right. I did 15 mins cover on and 10 off. I like this version of home fried potatoes...if you want the crispy version fry them in oil.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Really good, if you are in a rush just use Season All salt or Cajun seasoning and save yourself some time from having to blend the spices.

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
I was stationed over in Hawaii for four years and spicy yakisoba was my favorite dish in the mom and pop shops over there. This is pretty close to the real thing...not quite "authentic," but still very good. I used SriRacha Hot Chili sauce and it is relatively easy to find in the grocery store (clear bottle, green top, with a rooster on the front) I like spicy food and for me this was just about right, but would probably cut back to 1 1/2 tablespoons next time. I also like salty foods, but this was a little too salty for me (not trying to nitpick)...so I will cut the soy sauce back to a little over a 1/3 of a cup, but that is all personal preference. I will make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

Italian Sausage and Zucchini

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This is easy and great. I added 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan, cut the sausage into 1 inch lengths and added the onion. Once browned (and drained) I added all the veggies, 1 tablespoon of garlic plus 1 teaspoon each of oregano and basil. For a final touch I sprinkled mozzarella cheese to cover the dish. Served over brown rice...awesome.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I give this recipe 3 stars. It was alright, but I LOVE, I mean LOVE homemade chicken and dumplings and this just doesn't even compare. I know this is a quick, lazy version, but with all things considered I have to give this a 3. I added a teaspoon of season-all salt, a teaspoon of rubbed sage and substituted 2 cups of chicken broth for the water. I am not saying that this wasn't good, I guess this is just one of those things for me....I gotta have the real deal.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
I added a heaping tablespoon of cornstarch to the crockpot because I like a little thicker sauce/gravy (in quick rioux form, i.e. a lil water mixed in before adding to crockpot) a tablespoon of garlic, 1 beef boulion cube and a pinch of season all salt for extra flavor. I went with this recipe because I did NOT want to have to add any canned soups....great without it.
