About this Cook
I am a mother of one son and have been married since 1997. I live in a small town where I guess I'm sort of known for my cooking. I get asked often for cooking contributions - and I love it!
My favorite things to cook
Right now I'm into pies.Fall is my favorite season and pies are definitely Fall food. My favorite pastime is cooking and "tweaking" recipes - but I also like to bake cakes, bars, quick breads etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas eve cookie making (for Santa) with husband and son. Making old family recipes for get-togethers. Planning parties and pot-lucks. I'm participating in cookie swaps this year- have a feeling those will be a new tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Caramel brownies, whoopie pies, deviled eggs, beef stew, homemade spaghetti sauce, various cakes.
My cooking tragedies
Carrot casserole, homemade pie crust (will keep trying!)

Rhubarb Cherry Pie
I caught my 7 year old cutting into this pie for breakfast! When I teased him about it - he said it was really his 2nd piece. As he puts it "who knew rhubarb could be this good"!

Key Lime Pie VII
This pie is fantastic! It is rich, creamy (not dense) and easy to make. An absolute keeper. I used Rose's lime juice - found in the drink mix aisle at the grocery store. Made it even easier. Thank You for this recipe!

Kecia's Broccoli Salad
This salad is wonderful! I've also used the dressing (sugar, vinegar and mayonnaise) with packaged shredded cabbage and some celery seeds for a quick cole slaw. My family loves it!
