Honey Barbecue Sauce

I only used 3/4 honey and skipped brown sugar. Per the suggestion of the author I increased ketchup to 1 cup and skipped the molasses. I also heated for about 10 minutes. I didn't have meat tenderizer and skipped that. It was really good and quick. No more bottle sauce. I think the brown sugar would have made it way too sweet I rated four stars because the honey and brown sugar would have made it over the top sweet IMO. If you have the ingredients on hand, I'd definitely recommend.

Mini Cheesecakes III

I had six pre-made, mini graham cracker crusts. Used 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/8 tsp. lemon extract. Baked for 25 mins. Had just enough batter to fill all six. Good taste. So quick and easy, there is no need to ever buy.

Country Breakfast Casserole

Doubled the recipe. Made 9x13 pan and 9x9 pan. It was really good. I cooked the green onions with ground sausage and used country potatoes (the square ones) instead of bread. Found myself wanting some bread though. It was really good the next day.

Fry Bread I

Perfect for my tacos. the dough was super easy to work with, light. I used my Kitchenaid knead attachment until just pulled together. I tried pressing with hand but was easier and quicker to roll gently. Also place 3 slits in dough b4 frying. thanks.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Great dessert. Used 16 oz. carton of frozen sweetend strawberries and 1 cup of heavy cream. No extra sugar was added. It was harder to break up in my blender but everyone loved it without it being frozen. Thanks.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

I didn't care for the taste of this pound cake at all. I followed directions and added 1/2 c. sour cream as suggested. The crumb was wonderful. It tasted better the 2nd day but I still did not like it. I prefer the taste of evaporated milk I guess in my pound cakes.

Christmas Seafood Soup

I haven't tried this recipe but I know its good. We use peeled cajun crawfish in our soup and half/half or cream to thicken it up. Also may add a small bag of frozen corn and cayenne pepper.

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

First time I've cooked with dried peas. Usually open a can. This was a great recipe. I ommitted the pepper but the seasonings were dead on. Didn't soak beans and cooked in crock pot on high about 4 hours. Boiled peas on stove to thicken the broth. Loved it. Thanks.

Pumpkin Bread

This was just "OK" to me. It didn't taste bad but it wasn't esp. good either. I cut the sugar down to 2 1/2 cups using half white and half brown sugar which was sweet enough. It tsted fine it just reminded me of a cake more than a bread. I used 4 tsp. of pumkin pie spice instead of the individual spices. If I made it again I would mix the pumpkin in after the eggs and before the dry ingredients. It made 5 small mini loaves and an 8 inch pan (which is more than I thought).

Country Apple Dumplings

DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! Will probably reduce sugar to 1 cup and maybe go half brown sugar. Delicious as it is. I also will probably have more apples in the pan between dumplings. Great as it is. Impressive too. Update: Made again with 3/4 c. butter and 1/2 c white sugar and 1/2 c brown sugar. Also used Diet Mt. Dew. So simple and delish.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Made it twice. Pie 1 - used 2 gala, 2 golden delicious and 2 granny smith apples. Followed recipe except I sprinkled apples in a little cinn. sugar. At first I thought it was kind of bland but the next day it was really good. Pie 2 - used 4 large granny smith apples, sprinkled apples w/cinn. sugar and added 1 tsp. vanilla to the carael. I ACCIDENTLY OMITTED THE WATER then sprinkled a little cinn/sugar on the crust. I liked this pie much better. I like using all granny smiths better. I was worried about omitting the water but I think it worked out well. More flavorful, a tad too sweet using only 4 apples. The recipe is good as is or with changes.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

A little time consuming but very easy and inexpensive. I used 2 sticks of butter which really makes the caramel taste great. I'm so exited about this. Glad to add to my recipe file.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Made last night. Used half brown and half white sugar. It was very sweet and will play with the sugar content. Maybe go down to 3/4 cup. Also used evaporated milk. It was perfect, simple flavors. Not overly spicy which is how I like it. I can't stop eating it!
