About this Cook
I am a proud wife of 12 years and mom to 2 wonderful daughters, ages 11 and 9. I work from home, part-time, and love to cook meals for my family that brings oooh's and aaah's at the dinner table. In my spare-time (yeah, right!) I love to scrapbook and take photos of my favorite subjects, my family. :-) I chose the football/snack image because I am a HUGE NFL Football fan and LOVE the Pittsburgh Steelers! My hubby and I love to watch games all day on Sunday and I would love to find some more low-sodium snacks to make for half-time.
My favorite things to cook
Unfortunately, once I find a dish that my family does rave over, I cook it to death, every week until they get sick and tired of it. I cook well, but not a huge variety of items. It's even more difficult to find new dishes to cook, especially when my husband is on a very restricted low sodium diet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make home-made chili every Halloween that hits the spot after walking out in the chilly evening air. We top it off with FRITOS, onions and cheese. YUM!!!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest fan favorite dish is my Blue Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms. Even folks who don't care for blue cheese LOVE this dish! It's requested at EVERY function I go to and it's so easy to make too!
My cooking tragedies
SIGH...it wasn't totally my fault, but I attempted to make my first Thanksgiving turkey a few years ago and my pilot light kept going out in the oven and I had no way of telling if the turkey was done or not. Well, after cooking it for about 10 hours, it was STILL undercooked and our dinner ended up being all the "sides" that I made that evening. I haven't attemped another turkey since then.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes
I tried this dish today for our Thanksgiving dinner. It has a LOT of potential to be a great dish, but next time I will definitely cut the cream cheese & sour cream portions by at least half! It was WAY too creamy and cheesy tasting. I'm sure that with some tweaking, it will be a great receipe to have on hand.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
My 14 year old daughter made these cookies all on her own tonight to give as Christmas presents to her friends. They turned out better than we expected and were easy enough for her to make all on her own. I wouldn't change a thing! :D

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie
The hubby and I loved this dish! The kids, not so much. Next time, I would definitely double this recipe and be sure to eat it soon after it's completed, as it tends to get dry after awhile. Thanks for a quick, easy and tasty recipe!
