Penne a la Vodka II

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
This recipe is delicious! I used a box of pasta that was a bit under a pound and cut out about a quarter or two of the cream (I chose to use light cream), but it was still super yummy. I have tried other recipes and have been disappointed with the outcome. Either the sauce wasn't pink enough or there was too much of a vodka taste. This recipe is perfect. Definitely a the pasta to the skillet and let it all cook together for 10 minutes like one reviewer suggested. DELICIOUS! I can't wait to make it again.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
We made this for part of our 7 Fishes Feast on Christmas Eve because the reviews looked promising. Followed the recipe exactly and.... Salmon is my favorite fish, and this recipe quite simply ruined the wonderful flavor of salmon. It was such a waste (it was a lot!) Didn't seem like much of our family enjoyed it. It was a very odd flavor on fish. Perhaps it'd be better on chicken? My biggest disappointment from this website. Will never make again.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
I'll be honest and say baking this was a real pain for me, but it wasn't the recipe's fault. I didn't read enough of the reviewers' suggestions, so it wasn't as easy as I thought. I don't have a bread machine, so I used the suggestions, and my dough didn't seem to rise as much as I thought it would. The mixture for inside the buns spilled out the side as I rolled the dough! It made a big mess, but everything was well worth it. These were delicious, and I will attempt them many more times! Suggestion: Definitely put the cream cheese topping on as soon as it comes out of the oven. It's scrumptious!

Grandma's Moist Cake

Reviewed: May 4, 2007
This is a really yummy yellow cake! I've been looking for a homemade yellow cake recipe and after trying a recipe from one of my favorite TV cooks, and I was extremely disappointed. This is moist, just like it says. I made this with crushed up Reese's Pieces (as per my boyfriend's request) and it is just delicious. I'm coming back to this one.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
I've made this recipes as is two times. The first time i made it I baked them in mini muffin tins. The second time I made it I used regular sized muffin tins. Go with the regular size! Absolutely delicious and they've been a hit both times.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Love this recipe. I make it as is with two exceptions: I use some garlic powder instead of garlic cloves, and I use less cheese than called for. Other than that, everything is the same. It's absolutely delicious. We make it every year for an appetizer on Christmas day.

White Chocolate, Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
These are very yummy and rich! I followed the advice of other reviewers who used 1t of baking powder and 1t of baking soda, and it was an excellent suggestion. My cookies came out of the oven puffy and pretty! They are deliciously fudgy-like. One suggestion: After you form them a bit, press them down somewhat with the back of a spoon. I didn't do this the first time, so my first batch didn't spread. They are still delicious, though. Can't wait to serve them at tomorrow's Super Bowl party!

Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This is it!! This is the traditional biscotti recipe I've been searching for. My Italian family enjoyed my grandfather's biscotti for many years, and sadly I never got the chance to ask him about the recipe before he passed. This has the crisp bite and perfect anise flavoring. Look no further for the perfect biscotti recipe. No need to alter this one :)

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
The altered recipe on here by GourmetMommy must be reviewed! It is absolutely fabulous. A wonderful lemony taste that is tart and not overly sweet and fake-tasting like so many lemon bars can easily be! I could not believe how much I loved these. I made them for a housewarming party, and they went over quite well. I will make them again for Christmas Eve. Delicious.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
My mom requests these all the time! They're one of those desserts that look like you put a lot of time and effort into it, when in reality they're extremely easy. I've also tried cutting up some chocolate pieces and sprinkling them into the jam. I'd recommend using something smaller, like mini chocolate chips, rather than something chunky. And be warned: if you add chocolate to this recipe, it makes for an extremely sweet bar! They're excellent as is.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Oh my goodness, these might be my absolute favorite new cookie! They are incredibly easy. Definitely take the advice of other reviewers here and place the entire pan in the refrigerator after placing the cups into the cookie. I have a mini muffin pan that worked great for this recipe. I rolled the dough into smallish balls and dropped them in the tin. Amazing recipe!

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
These were delicious! I made them a bit smaller than walnut size, and I cooked them longer than recommended. The tip of mixing the meat with the mix first before adding the cheese definitely helped! These were so, so good and would definitely make them again!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Yum! This recipe yields a very tasty sweet tea! I made a few modifications for personal taste: 1. I cut down the sugar a bit because I prefer a less sweet tea (plus, other people can add their own if it isn't sweet enough) and 2. I used a Raspberry flavored tea (Raspberry Zinger). It was delicious. Better than in the restaurants. Also, I was too afraid to pour boiling water into my glass pitcher, so I switched things around a bit. I boil the water, sprinkle a pinch of baking soda in the water when I add the tea bags. While this is steeping for fifteen minutes, I stuck my glass pitcher filled with 6 cups of water in the fridge to cool. When the fifteen minutes is up, I stir in the sugar (I will try this next time with Splenda) and when it is dissolved, I poured it into the glass pitcher.

Chocaroon Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This was an okay recipe. It wasn't nearly as sweet as I expected it to be (I didn't add any kind of topping). I was mostly disappointed in the coconut mix on the inside. It wasn't creamy like I expected it to be. I might try this again one day.

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This is a great ganache recipe. I helped my friend make this for her brownies, and she said they went over very well! We left out the rum, though. This makes brownies even more fudgy and decadent!

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
This cake tastes delicious! I made it for Thanksgiving of '07 for my boyfriend's family, and everyone loved it. Next time I make it, I may use clear imitation vanilla, however, for the glaze because real vanilla tinted it a brown color. I'll admit it did not look too pretty. I winded up cutting the cake into slices so it would look more presentable. It was, and I will definitely make it again!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I took the advice of reviewers here, and these came out very good. I'm used to mixing things with a mixer, so doing this by hand was interesting but definitely worth it! They came out very pretty, and the resident snickerdoodle critic, my mother, loved them! Will make again.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

My favorite part of this recipe is that it is full of "meat." I prefer the full fruit flavor. They're really delicious and a perfect festive treat around Christmas time.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I also followed the advice of the most helpful reviewers on here and in the product was delicious! I stored them in an airtight container for about a week or so before now, and they still taste delicious. Soft and full of cream cheese flavor. I paired them with the Sugar Cooking Icing found on the site, as well, and the pairing was great. I will definitely make these again.
