Artichoke Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
I thought this was good. I would make it again but I would reduce the mayonnaise. It was too overpowering. I did add garlic and I pretoasted the bread like other reviewers suggested. It was really good. I would have given it 4 stars but my husband wasn't as much of a fan as I was.

So YUMMY!! I added chocolate chips. :) My kids and I loved them. I had them for breakfast or as a snack. We also had fun making them together. Thanks for the great recipe.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
This was delicious!! It has become one of my new favorites, and a staple in our home. The only thing that I changed was i cut the recipe in half because I have a small family. I used one cup of white sugar and then a half a cup of brown sugar. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly! FANTASTIC!! Thanks for a great recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I LOVE beer but I agree other reviewers that the beer added a different taste. I used a Sam Adams beer and I first I thought it was the type of beer I used until I read some of the other reviews. I thought this recipe was a good base. It's easy to make. However the beer didn't seem to blend well and the flavor was bland. It seemed to be missing something for me. I was disappointed but I will probably try to make it again and add my own spices.

Butternut Squash Soup with Sage

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I made the recipe as stated. At the end I added a 1/2 tsp of ginger and about a 1/2 tsp of salt. I felt that it was lacking in flavor. After adding some seasoning I would give it 4 stars. It was really good.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I like the simplicity of the recipe. It tasted good. However, I don't know if it was the problem with the recipe but I changed the servings by half. When I did this there was not enough veg. stock to cook the rice all the way through. I had to add more liquid to get the rice to cook. That was a little frustrating.

Cheesy Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
Overall I thought that this was really yummy. I agree with the others that this is great because it's so versatile. I pretty much followed the recipe to a T. However, I didn't have velveeta on hand so I used block colby jack and shredded it. I would definately make this again but I would do a couple of things different. The celery still tasted somewhat raw to me. It was pretty hard and crunchy. So I will saute the celery and onion with a bit of olive oil and then add it to the mix. I thought the flavor was good but I also like a little kick. Their is a great potato soup recipe on here and there is steak sauce in it and it adds great flavor. Next time I am going to add a little steak sauce. Thanks for the great recipe.

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
My husband took a bite out of his salad and all I heard was "mmmmm". He loved the dressing, as did I. The dressing was quick and easy to make. I made a salad, only to look in the fridge and see we had no dressing. I pulled up all recipes and I had everything that was required for this. We put it in the freezer for about ten minutes, took it out & ate it as is. Typically I would have refrigerated it for awhile but didn't have the time and it was still good. Thanks for the recipe.

Black Hills Golden Egg Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
It took a lot longer to prepare and cook then I planned. Probably because there is a lot of chopping to do. My husband and our guest loved it. I thought there was too much going on, a lot of different flavors. Overall it was good, just not my personal favorite.
