Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
This was really good, but a little dry. I guess that's to be expected when cooking with lean turkey, but it was so moist before I baked it that I hoped it would retain the moisture during baking. I would make it again, but I think I'll make a honey barbeque glaze instead of the brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
as written, this recipe gets 4 stars. with a few modifications as suggested by past reviews it is a 5 star recipe. i replaced some of the whipped topping with heavy whipping cream, i added a layer of strawberries, and drizzled caramel over the brownie layers. i made two for mother's day, one for my family and one for my boyfriend's family... both trifle dishes came back empty and everyone loved it! will definitely make again.

Honey-Pecan Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
this is a great recipe and really quick to make. i also remove the chicken and cook the honey pecan mix separately. turns out much nicer that way. i made it once without cayenne since i didn't have any... it's really a vital part of the recipe, don't skimp on it!

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
my boyfriend and i both liked this recipe... it was fast and easy. i prepared it exactly as written except i added baby bella mushrooms. my only problem with it is that it isn't very healthy. maybe i'll try it again using skim milk and low fat blue cheese dressing as others have substituted.

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
this is such a great recipe. i was skeptical at first because sweet and sour pork varies so much between different restaurants and sometimes it is downright disgusting. this recipe really turns out better than any sweet and sour pork i've had in chinese restaurants. my boyfriend requests this all the time! i use cubed pork tenderloin because that's the only kind of pork i buy. i add carrots to the sauce mix, and i usually make 2 or 3 times the amount of sauce and freeze the extra to cut down on future prep time. it looks a little gross when you first start to thaw it, but bring it up to a boil again and it returns to its proper consistency.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
i made this lasagna for the obligatory 'hey we moved in together and now our parents want to meet... how creepy is that?' dinner and it went over fantastically. i left out the salt, save for a pinch of kosher that i add to everything out of habit, and added more sugar because i like a sweeter sauce. i also mixed some cottage cheese in with the ricotta. love this recipe, will definitely use again if i ever find the time. i think the boyfriend's mom might like me now. ^_^
